Day18
Today's EDC
There is more little hidden stuff but I'm only unpacking the main gear.
You also see my range bag and the background is a shirt from my regular range.

Because I know someone's probably going to ask: That double Maxpedition pouch is not a tc7 or similar double pouch that they make but rather a TC1 and TC2 laced together using the pals loops on the sides and some paracord. I prefer this setup because Maxpedition larger pouches only have one belt loop by doing this I get two to distribute the weight better. Also I can have the hanger loops stradle a belt loop on my pants so they dont shift.

Got nothing.
So I tried something I knew wouldnt work. There is a reason boot knives are 4in or less NOT 7in.

This is ridiculous.

Okay that lasted all of 10 minutes

Day21
Work and errands have me running around in circles so much I haven't gotten a chance to take a decent photo.
So I was thinking about what to snap real quick and I remembered that $2 bait knife that my wife tried to open the paint can with... you remember that bent tip right?
Well that knife found a new home immediately after. And here it is packed in with all the cheap Harbor Freight tools that make up my car kit. Now I use generic tools in car tool kits for the simple reason that having had a car broken into before I feel everything left in a car should be considered disposable. That way if it's stolen or your loan it out and it walks off it's not a big deal.

Day23 sort of
Ok its 4:17am so technicaly this is D23 even though I am still up from D22

Minor misshap. A giant can of Monster detonated in my EDC bag. I just got done cleaning the contents, but the bag is still soaked. Any tips for cleaning a canvas and leather rucksack? I am planing on delicate cycle w/ just washing soda then sun dry this afternoon.(its texas summer the only way it wont dry is if it rains)

So my pack will be out of comission for a couple of days. So time for a new(old) bag. My wife hates murses so she will hate this when she sees it. All my stuff, munchies included, is now in a 1968 Czechoslovakian Army bread bag. I had actualy gotten this as a new muzzle loaging bag, but never got around to swaping out the East German AK mag pouch I was using.
The one catch here is the Glock81 is longer than the bag so the RCF will be my EDC bag knife till I switch back.

Ps
I am not one to actualy carry a bag around town. I never got the whole murse thing that is so common today. I do carry a pack when at the mall but it starts out empty. My EDC bag goes from the house to the car, to job, back to car, house, repeate, over and over, you get the idea. It isnt always on me but it is usualy nearby.

I figured since there is another thread about the uses of a hawkbill blade that I would show off one of mine.
This is an Aranyk mini-billhook pictured next to my RCF and ST300 for size.
I have used this knife mainly for light wood working and as a curved drawshave/scraper by gripping the handle and hump on the back of the blade.
It doesnt get used often but when it does is handy for whatever special tasks I give it

What would one of my challenges be without cutting some cardboard.
All right so we changed the cardstock at work to where now it is almost paper thin... that's no fun.
Pic1

Let's do a single push on a single piece of corrugated across the corrugations "grain".
Standing on the edge; even pressure strait down; stopping when it starts to curl.
That a good 8-10in in one cut
( didn't think to actually measure it)
Pic2

Edit
It was still in the trash pile so I got to take it yard stick to it (20-10 10 1/2) that's a 9 1/2 inch cut

Not shure what to call this...it isnt woodworking by any means. My wife had me salvage an old fence for a project.
 :pok:
So she doesnt want it planed flush and glued; she doesnt want wood braces across the back; it must be flat; she does want a french cleat.

Ok so this isnt right. The whole thing ended up conected with a bunch of mending plates screwed randomly in the back.

It has allready been sanded just enough to stop splinters. What I am doing now is using the Glock as a scraper to knock off a sharp corner.

She is going to paint...something.

Sorry for rambling
If you are lost you're welcome
I got lost someware in this post too

For me the Buck Reaper is a study in how you can have a knife with every component be right just feel wrong.
Dont get me wrong on this it's nice quality knife.
The recurve blade, I like recurve blade, I like the large belly and slightly forward sweep. The minimalist guard with the large choils are great. The grip is contoured nicely with a decent finish.
But for me it just doesn't come together right.
Maybe if I actually used it seriously for a while instead of just a little with it here&there....
