In contrast, a slow Day 17 for me, as regards use. Hence, a posing shot only today.

Day 2
Carrying it along side my fieldmaster today. A little redundant but I'm feeling nostalgic.  :) The Rebar was first Leatherman and the Fieldmaster was my first victorinox  :dd:

Kicking off the day I've already used the straight part of the serrated blade as a razor blade to cut open the packaging on my electric toothbrush  :D

Day 6:
Was working on a project and thought I'd try the wood saw on one if the pieces I was cutting. I usually only use an MT wood saw on dowels and trim, so this was going to be interesting.
The cut is crappy to put it lightly, but it wasn't the saw's fault. The Rebar saw took it out like a hot knife through butter. I am just out of practice using anything that isn't a power saw. My manual cutting was uneven.
But, the great file on the Rebar easily cleaned up the uneven surface. :)

My handsaw skills are atrocious. Damn power-tools have led to a decline in craftsmanship. But who can resist a nice router?

I would be sad about the lack of hand-tool skill these days, but I won't be the one to give up power tools.

For the most part I agree about not giving up power tools, but I have had to remove so many over torqued srews and bolts from people mot knowing how or when to use an impact driver that I hardly use one any more myself.

Douglas,
That second pic could be an advertisement image for Leatherman! It kind of personifies the Rebar. IMHO

On a side note: it is awesome that Rebar is getting used like it should be.

Great uses and pics Douglas and GLBM :like:

Let's see how tactical the Rebar gets to be today...

Day 18 started with what may be my last wiper blade swap on this particular car. Have you ever wondered why these supposedly easily unclippable blades always manage to break a fingernail or two? Not an issue with the fixed large screwdriver blade on the Rebar, which I retained on the VX.

Thank you, D_T and Poncho!

And D_T,
You make a good point about those plastic wiper clips. Mine are different, but the sunlight makes the plastic less malleable or sure.
I can see broken fingernails happening. But, that's why we have our Rebars! :viking:

Day 8:
Found an old dremel in a box of stuff. The variable resistor speed controller was bad and that is more costly than a new dremel. :ahhh
Saved the good cord off of it though. :)

Day 3
Rebar and Pioneer X again. The Rebar hasn't seen much use, but I used the knife blade on my SAK to cut open boxes and a few letters, and the scissors cut some thread.

Matt,
Did you get my PM? I challenged you to a pocket dump(thread link was included). :pok: :D

No big deal. It is too late to accept the pocket dump challenge now, but maybe next time. If that is O.K.? :)

I know this Rebar challenge is a bit 'off the cuff', but I would have used the Rebar blade instead of the SAK blade(I hope that doesn't come off as preachy). Just because of the challenge(makes a good photo).   Nothing wrong with the SAK blade, but that Rebar needs some photo-cardio. :tu:

Day 9
I'm not a great fan of SE blades but the Rebar's cut through this reinforced drain line beautifully and the Phillips made easy work of changing the fan on this juice dispensor.  :tu: :tu: I also had occasion to use the file to remove some burrs on a stainless steal filter assembly and it worked wonderfully.  :tu: :tu: The file is very agressive so it takes a lighter touch than with a Vic file, I kinda like it too.  :tu:  Sorry no photo on that one.    G-Man the "break-in" on the tools is perfect and they deploy for use very smootly.  :salute: :salute:  I often use the tools more than the pliars and need to swap between tools several times on the same job so having to open the pliars every time has been a real challenge for me.  :ahhh :ahhh I am so accoustomed to out side tools on my Swisstools I occasionaly have to bite my tongue in front of customers.   Maybe it's just hard to teach an old Doug new tricks...

Oh and Matt I gotcha covered on that blade in use photo today.

Alright, alright. You got me!  I had the Rebar on my belt but both times out of instinct I reached for my pocket knife. Don't worry the Rebar is getting a workout tomorrow! And GLBM I just looked at the message but I didn't see a link  I'll go look again
