Alright, alright. You got me!  I had the Rebar on my belt but both times out of instinct I reached for my pocket knife. Don't worry the Rebar is getting a workout tomorrow! And GLBM I just looked at the message but I didn't see a link  I'll go look again
If I forgot the link, I apologize!  :ahhh
We'll do a pocket dump challenge again, at some point.

I know what ya mean. I constantly reach for a knife or tool that I isn't part of a challenge. But, changing the pocket they reside in helps to reduce using the non-challenge tool. :)

Right  :tu: As far as the pocket dump challenge, I'll be on my game next time. I got bombarded all at once with emails yesterday so that must be why I didn't see your PM until just now. Sorry about that. :crash:

Day 4
Today's plan is to carry the Wenger to the car and leave it in the center console unless I desperately need scissors.     I'll behave....

If you haven't gotten a set yet, check out "Loki-Mobile" for a set of parse wrenches. Once you break down a Leatherman, it ets easier te next time. :)

Day 9:
Stapler jam. Used the can opener to get the bent staple out. :)

Two-part post. 1/2
Decided to use the Rebar as my only tool for an insert removal, fill-in with dowel, and cutting/filing the dowel. Only other tool used was a power drill for the hole.
The Rebar is definitely more capable than I had originally given it credit for. The saw and file are really good. :)

Good use of the under estimated Rebar. :tu:

Now, will you drill a new hole for mounting a caster or will the leg no longer roll, indicating this process was repeated multiple times?

If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

Thank you, LoopCutter!
I will take a photo tomorrow. But, I drilled fresh 3/8" holes(slightly offset from the dowels) and put in new insert sockets. I wire wheeled the original wheels metal frames and oiled the bearing swivels/axels. Rolls like a Rolls Royce now. :)
I am not 100% sure, but I believe those are the original wheels. The wheels are extremely well made, but the socket holes were wallowed out and the inserts damaged. My guess is that something very heavy(CRT TV maybe?) was sitting on the table and rolled around often. The joints were coming apart as well. I'll have to post a photo, because it is one of those mid-century double-leaf tables with storage for four matching folding-chairs inside. It did have spider webs, roach pills, car fur, and decades of cigarette smoke all over it, so the cleanup has been/should still be fun.  ::)

Good work there G-Man.   :salute:

Nice macro shot there! That plier head is the only thing I wish my ReWave still had. The new-style jaws just feel more robust.  :)
I like the Wave pliers, but they will twist a lot easier than the Rebar pliers. :ahhh

Great uses GLBM, Douglas and Matt :tu:

For the moment it's looking as if I won't be using the Rebar much today (office duty) but on Day 20 I can sing a few more praises on the excellent pocketability of the Rebar. On a fair number of my trousers even the fifth (change/lighter) pocket is deep enough to contain the Rebar, with only minimal exposure, just enough to grab it. If you want however, there is more than enough space in any other pocket of a standard pair of trousers - although a residual risk of being asked questions cannot be excluded if the front pockets are used. A caddy might come in handy if you want to avoid the long-term effects of the edges of the tool wearing through the cloth, though.

One further word of caution: it seems as if one of the seams on the rim of that pocket is coming loose  - not sure it's the Rebar's fault, but...

Thanks! Hmm... not using pocket clips on any of my tools... maybe a car key fob, I have one with sharpish edges (I wonder if I can take that onto a plane and no, it's not a Shard or other multitool ).

Nice pic, Matt! :like:

Day 10:
Used the ReWave to remove a bunch of wood screws. Power drill kept stripping the screw heads out. The inside tools work very well in a folded out position. I don't even close the handles anymore when using the implements.  :tu:

Second pic is of the new caster socket in the new hole and the caster with the metal cleaned. Just a follow-up to LoopCutter's inquiry.  :)

Just did some more simple wire work again today (unable to get a picture) untill I got home.
The we had some fun opening up a new toy.

Austrailian NATO Swisstool.

Shows a little use, just enough to be a great patina.
