After using the Charge for a challenge and off and on sense, I feel the Rebar could also benifit from adding the Bit holder.  Although I would not really want to give up the slim reach of the dedicated phillips.
What about using a Removable Bit Driver? :pok:  It fits onto your dedicated phillips.  :tu:

Good stuff G-man. :like:
Spent most of the day in the office again today.

Checking in parts was just another boring solo job for Rebar today.
(Image removed from quote.)

Then along comes a distant Swiss cousin with a fun challenge.  Some freight seemed to need a closer inspection and the metal bands must first be cut.
The two (Rebar and Swiss cousin) teamed up for the job and those bands were just no match for the duo.

True. I considered this too, on the way to my Rebar VX, but decided against it because I'd have to pack yet another item, which in addition is a little bit too bulky for the 2D bits because it had to be sized to also accommodate the normal 1/4" bits...
But this way you'd keep the slimmer fixed Phillips. I put mine in the ReWaveR instead

Day 23

Taking a watch band off that needs gluing. Will glue it tomorrow. But, the Rebar blade worked nicely to locate and remove the spring bar. :)

Good work G-man.
Hows the hand healing?

Thank you, Douglas!

The hand is doing quite alright. Just have to be careful extending it with force, as the bone surface hasn't bonded yet. Strange how such a small entry wound can cause mild bone damage.  :ahhh

BTW. Posted your tree climber to the August thread. :like:

Thanks, D_T! :salute:

I wouldn't have used the Rebar blade if I didn't already know the spring bars were new (just put them in a week ago). Now, old corroded spring bars require something dull. :ahhh

Put new band on the Victorinox watch from yesterday's photo. New band gives the watch a 'bigger' look. :)
I used the ReWave pliers to pull frail spring bars out to install bigger bars for my Citizen Solar-Tech. :)

and took a glamour shot with the sheath from the Rebar that started the challenge.

Hey Douglas, nice pics and congratulations on the reason for the extra hole ;)

That old-pattern sheath looks nice doesn't it, but it's a pity the leather is not genuine...

Not many days left for the challenge guys - keep it going :tu: :ahhh

Great pictures Douglas.
Congratulations on having to use the awl for a new belt hole.

For my part time job at the Y, I do a lot with the chemicals for the 2 pools and spa.  The Rebar's stainless finish works real well.

For work I do use a nylon sheath, (molded style that  came with a $4 Walmart tool.)  The box sheath for home.

Enjoyed reading your adventures as well as DT's. :like: :like: :hatsoff:
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

Day 26:

Fixing one of my old incandescent Maglites. The one I EDC'd for more than 10 years was rebuilt using the guts in the red one(I don't carry non-led anymore, ao not sure why I did that). My OCD has been nudging me to get it back working. Like I need another flashlight.

All done and all working. The old incandescent Maglites are still great for up-close work, since the brightness won't blind you. :ahhh
The gold ones are 1988 Olympics gift-bag items. The worn one is the one carried so long. After looking for years, I found one just like it unused for the collection.

The far right is my 111 lumens LED AAA Maglite I use at work. :)
