@Tuisto -  Yes, that experience is on you! And the River site did not target you. The person that made a valid purchase prior, returned said box with A PRODUCT, and sealed the box scammed the site and unknowing returned a seal box to the inventory.

I had experienced something similar, ordered a Vic MXBS, the carton arrived, a MXBS sealed. When I opened it, a SWISS RANGER in its glorious RED was revealed!

WHEN I NOTIFIED them, a report was filed. RETURN AUTHORIZATION ISSUED PROMPTLY.
I ORDERED A REPLACEMENT, it arrived next day and s credit was issued about 20 minutes after the local return center received my package for return shipping.

Amazing how efficient they are.

Unfortunately, there are those that live without scruples and take advantage of others, big or small.

If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

While I am thinking about it, what is your opinion of the SwissChamp that you got last time?

It is a large tool!   Still scratching my head as to why!!!

Presently it is on display.

I have examined it closely, has many of the implements I have sought out with a MOUNTAINEER, Craftsman, RANGER, etc.   even my EXPLORER.

BARRY suggested a belt sheath!  Have not acquired one yet.    Can not believe this did not qualify for the December MONSTERS CHALLENGE!!!
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

Barry has been talking about doing a SwissChamp challenge this year.  I would be in for it.  Depending on circumstances.  Best wishes.  G

Gary, I know you weren't directing this question at me, but I'm going to tell you my experience with ordering a sapphire SC off that site. I bought one about three years ago (new, of course) and when I received it I actually (like a complete moron) shelved it and didn't quite look at it beyond peeking in to check if there was indeed a Sapphire SC in there.

I don't think I ever got anything without tearing open the box on the spot and throwing wrappings in every direction.  While giggling.  Best wishes.  G

Oh man!   Really, a challenge?

I can not imagine entering any challenge with just ONE, of the subject tool!😢

Thanks for the heads up!

Here I prepped for a EXPLORER and a CLIMBER, or even a HUNTSMAN type event.

I agree with you but I have to say — the certainty with which they told me that there is no possible way such a thing could have occurred was bizarre, seeing as it did, in fact, occur. They made it seem like it contravened the laws of physics and nature or something.

Edit: changed 'seeing is it did' to 'seeing as it did'

The response you received I am sure was tainted as result of the time elapse since receiving and making the claim.

I am sure the rep was working off script.

Still very sorry you had the experience.
