Rugby Life should be a simple game but has too many (and some very complicated) rules.

Well, any rule breaking the referee doesn't see is allowed, so...

Game on!

  :tu:

it ain't cheating if they don't know you did it

Curse of the World Champion strikes again... bye bye Germany.

that was an interesting experience. it was their own fault

I've been following NRL  (Aussie) rugby matches, when I can catch them on Fox Sports Soccer Plus here.  My fave team is the North Queensland Cowboys, followed by the St George-Illawarra Dragons.

It was kinda funny, cheering for the Cowboys when I've got the Dallas Cowboys here, then I discovered their mascot is a Bluey (blue heeler/ Australian cattle dog), and that made me a fan for sure.  That breed is my favorite, smartest, most loyal, even if I don't have one right now.

I can't believe Germany is out this early.  I heard they hadn't been eliminated this early since 1937 or something, and that didn't go well.

Polish members keep your eyes peeled....

There has been a lot of "strange" results. People who bet at random or against the odds must be making a bundle!

Any predictions for England vs Belgium today?

Both teams are in, so they don't have much pressure. Gives them room to experiment a bit.

They will have a picnic.  :tu:
Much beer will be drunk, along with a truckload of shephards pie and Belgian chocolate

Funny game, as the loser stands to gain the "better" knockout games.  Two teams trying their hardest to lose with nothing to gain?
Only thing to gain is personal pride for the strikers going for the golden boot.
Will team orders come into play?

Interesting result.

I foresaw a whopping 0-0 finish.

Nice to see Belgium, at least, keep some momentum going into the next round.   :salute:

texans fan?

I prefer the Cowboys, have for a long time, even tho I live closer to Houston. I jokingly refer to the Texans as the "new Oilers," still a little bitter at the "old Oilers" packing up for Tennessee. I admire JJ Watt for everything he did to help folks out after Hurricane Harvey last year.  Him and "Mattress Mac" should be Houston's Citizens of the *Decade* for all they did.

For me, Awll-Blacks every time. If you can get them and South Africa together, you probably won't get bored.

I thought France seemed pretty impressive today. Well done, Les Bleus.   :salute:

And Uruguay deserved their win. Portugal seemed a bit lost out there.  Uruguay made a couple of opportunities and took advantage, again, well done.  :salute:

Argentina could only ride on their luck for so long. Uruguay have a really good team with many well-known faces, while Ronaldo had to carry the whole Portugal team. The two Uruguay goals are beautiful. At the end of the day, the both results were just. If anything, I feel sorry for Ronaldo. He was born in a wrong country to have a realistic shot at the World Cup. Argentina and Germany have really expensive squads, but couldn't do jack. I hope Edinson Cavani's injury is nothing serious. This Uruguay team can go far.

I was cheering for Uruguay in that one. It was a bummer that Nigera didn't go past group stage

In the end, I think Russia deserved the win. They stymied Spain and scored all the goals in regular time (+OT).  Well done, Russia.
