:tu: to ChopperCharles. Stanley auto mini-pliers arrived as advertised! He even greased the pivot and sent a little bonus keychain knife. Great transaction start to finish.

Since making this thread, I've bought a Craftsman MT, 2 Coast pocket tools, a wrench tool, and a hobo knife(and maybe something else). All very good transactions. Can't thank him enough.

Thank you, Charles!

Thanks again, Charles!

The Coast Pocket Pliers are a seriously cool retro tool.

It would be cool if a chopper rolled up in the driveway and dropped off MTs. :D

I’m glad you like those pocket pliers! I’d love to see pics of them in action, and your general thoughts on the tool.

I just essentially received the modern version of those pliers, and kinda wish I’d held on to it just a bit longer to make a comparison. I just posted about the modern one in cheap and cheerful, take a look if you’re interested!

Charles.

They are on the list of tools to overview and try out.  :)

The one problem I have to fix beforehand is the scissors not staying in place, because of the strong spring and loose(very slightly) tool pivot on that side. The scissors even pop into the tool stack on the other side, so I have taped the scissors up for now, but will remove the plastic covers and peen the pivot at some point.  :)

Yeah, I made the mistake of lightly oiling the tools and ever since the scissors wouldn’t stay in plate. But it made everything else open and close nicely. Well, as nice as they can on that tool. You might be able to just clean the tool with soap and water and get the scissors back to staying closed... but then everything will be really difficult to open. It’s a trade off.

Charles.
