Let's find a name for this FrankenSAK!

Here's my latest SAK, a mod from Magentus, made from an Explorer. Slimmed down to three layers, but not a Yeoman, because the combo tool sits opposite to the magnifier, it has an 93 mm inline awl opposite the large blade, the corkscrew has been replaced with a Phillips, and the hook has the nailfile surface a la Compact/DofE.

It's "working title" was the quite fitting FrankenSAK, I also nicknamed it "Fauxman" because of the three layers and the combo tool, but I'm sure that you, my learned friends can come up with even better suggestions!

(No deadline, no prize at the end, but hopefully you'll have fun with it anyway.)

Probably, but I have no idea, Mags will have to answer that, but I can add that the original idea was to pair the combo tool with a 84 mm nailfile (added small Phillips capability), but it didn't fit.

-The MAGSnifyer X (because of the scissors)
-Explorer X if Vic wants to adopt the name
-MAGSnifyer Plus (because of the scales)

This awl is the most notable feature, may i suggest Awlman ?

Well, it's definitely not my invention, others had mods like this before, but it's a neat idea, whoever came up with it first, that's for sure.

That is a nice SAK you came up with Magentus :tu:
Especially the 93 mm awl, makes it quite special, along with the rare-ish Phillips and combi tool...

Exeter, nice "find"!  About the name, I suggest the Imaginator. Various reasons: the magnifier transforms images, it took imagination to build it, and finally the builder's nickname is almost fully represented :D

Exeter, nice "find"!  About the name, I suggest the Imaginator. Various reasons: the magnifier transforms images, it took imagination to build it, and finally the builder's nickname is almost fully represented :D

Not to take anything away from Mags at all, as he did a very nice and diligent job building this knife (and another one), but the concept came from me. And I like the Imaginator, and there some other nice sugeestions too. Keep them coming! :)

Although I liked the other Ex-suggestions too, Examiner sounds pretty "legit" as a Vic model, Exiter has a nice ring to it as well (wonder why...), and even the Imaginator sounds pretty good. And the Awlmighty! :D I knew there will be many good ideas!  :like:

I almost forgot about this! I see there's no more takers, so after a week I'd like to thank all those who contributed, there were some really good and also some really funny suggestions.

The two standouts for me were the Examiner and the X-man, I can't even decide between the two, so the "official" model name will be Examiner from now on, but I'll keep the X-man as the permanent nickname. Great ideas an0nemus and Ron!  :salute:
