I found the R2 D2 the most challenging. Mind you, it was also my first model of this type.

Are the edges sharp?  Just wondering if they are safe for little hands?

They do warn about sharp edges, but I haven't found them to be overly sharp. Mind you, where the pieces are attached to the metal sheet, are these pointy metal triangles that might cause some harm.

The danger I think, is not the danger of cutting yourself, but of losing the small pieces. These are small kits that come on two small sheets.

while the metal earth models are pretty neat, this is mind blowing...

Agreed. Fabulous work. I wonder how many hours go into making one of those.

Hey Dan, if people think you need professional help, what do you think they say about that guy?

that guy must have the patience of a saint, and one could say that's quite therapeutic as far as hobbies go...

I'm currently at my spanish flat temporarily during my holidays, and will take it back to France to do on a weekend or something...

Well it’s been a while and I’ve done a few, I made a smaller shelf but then it was too small so I made this one, but with all the models the Mrs just bought me I don’t think they’ll all fit,, I love these things..

Thanks I’m freaking addicted to them, but that’s if I could ever find time, I remodeled the dining room, bathroom, and whole kitchen, and by the time I’m done I don’t have any umph left to do anything, the Mrs just bought a load of new models for me to do but I still have to re-do the bathroom downstairs, I just built a wall and put in a door let alone closed off another wall, and I’m done, for the day, I don’t have enough energy to work on one, I was so happy to get a cold glass of iced tea over ice, and sit in my recliner! But look at what I have to do..

yeah that should keep you busy a while... I have the Slave1 half done here in Spain, might have to take it to France too... but not sure I should move it in the half assembled state...

Idk, that whole shelving unit fell while I was sitting in the recliner below it, so they all crashed on me, most no diff, but some kinda bent, but then we thought we were going to move so they all got packed and put in a box, so that and the shelf went to the attic for storage while we started doing things, but then things changed, and we decided we were going to stay here and remodel the house, but one day the Mrs and I went upstairs and she found this box and it weighed “nothing” so she thought it was a empty box a threw it down the steps,, but as it went down it made noise  so I went an checked and it was the box of my models  needless to say some of them are a little twisted, like Ironman, it looks like he’s dancing, a few of the parts on others fell off, yet others are rock solid!
So, if packed right and if you mark off what step you did last you should have no prob, some of these I can have done in like an hour, but the others that are going to take days I put stuff in a little tray next to my recliner, but if in transit, I’d use one of those food storage containers,, lay the sheets down first then put what you have built, then maybe take some tissues and place the around it, and over, thus it wouldn’t move..
