WTT: Vic SPIRIT for somethin
on: November 26, 2008, 02:08:59 PM
hey ya all.

After touchin the spirit for a day,i might wanna trade this to somethin useful, somethin that aint multi tool.I strongly believe this is one or just from a guy,who used this more as a envelope opener. Its like new,if not even new, atleast the sheath is never-carried for sure .

im intrested in:
-fixed blades(robust users, tacticals etc,i have  no use for some shiny engraved daggers etc :D )
-axe,full tang, short enough to fit into rucksack
-folding saw.Bahco Laplander or similar, but i prefer laplander.i lost mine in moving :-[.
-m-65 or other od / black outdoor jacket, used or new,i dont mind, size xxl or 60-62.with removable liner?
-huge/strong folding knife with one blade.
-JETBOIL,used or new,its all he same to me,as long as u check it works and cup´s teflon is ok to use.
-survival kits and gear as always, all sort of.from tarps to firesteels, all goes.

the DAMN CAN OPENER. :D.i tried to check if it could be replaced with one from wenger,or old paratool,to make it useful.i really dont like any can opener that operates by pushing it,rather than drawing it,the ones u draw, are always more effective, without any tiny flatheads on them. >:D >:D >:D >:D >:D

no,actually,i just thought it would be good for doin some trades, before i go and scratch this all over.

and the points that make me look spirit in a bit odd way...what is this hook-thingy for,in the end of the awl?
can opener.i dont understand these tiny flatheads in points of any brands can openers.
scissors.useless to me,i hardly ever need any scissor from multitool, and on spirit, theyre SO tiny.what are they for, cutting fishinglines or similar?cutin thru A¤ sized paper must take few days with these.

PRO´s :
-serrated blade,i just love this style, with blunt tip.sharp as hell. me like a lot.
-chisel.i like it,its wide enough, has also sharp edge on the othe rcorner, for scrapin grooves etc.
-phillips.pretty useful shape/size,and good reach,indeed.
-small flathead.this is nice to have as it reaches to most counter sunk screws as well(so why the tiny on can opener too?did the swiss engineer just grab the can opener from regular saks cause of bein busy/lazy?  :D )
-file.really really sharp,,and aggressive, even the saw-part of file is very grippy.big plus in my books.
-saw.superb by performance,good teeth´s,but short.still better than nuthin´.

awl could be top of the line without the space taken by that odd hook-thingy.
bottle opener and phillips.basic stuff that works.but it is also like its taken from regular sak, before theyre maschined to fit in regular sak´s.they could make it better or just throw away the bottle-opener funtion of it.

now can i keep my add,Ben please :D

The biggest problem is it'll probably cost more to ship those big heavy things than they cost, especially the axe.

well u are right,i didnt thought about that :-\

i think its goin to be just a trade offer for some fixed blade, folding knife, firesteels or that saw ,or similar not-so-heavy&huge items.

If you get really stumped, I'll swap you a Laplander for it Mikko.  There's got to be someone out there can offer you a better deal though!  ???

naah,i have some blades here for you already, ill just stuff the vic there too and pass em on their way to yours, these guys arent goin to make any better ffers i think :D,and after all,i love those Laplanders and its very much somethin i really need as i seem to lost mine as we moved, and i dont mind if ill find it,its not bad to have two of those ever, its the best folding saw ever made commercially, even the us army has those nowadays, finally,as do all scandinavian special units carry those as well.here,in finland theyre pretty rare for some reason, only one or two companies sell those for other companies, its hard to get one if youre civilian without your own business/sshop/company.they do sell occasionally in some malls those,in combo, with some mora-type knife or some axe etc,but its rare.
