I haven’t got any soap in house
What about wood polishing wax
No bar soap? What about a solid shoe/leather polish?

Well that’s the whole point, a wax to rub on the wood to help it slide better for some time, but let GLBM confirm if good. Did you get the box?

Sorry JR,

Vaseline should only be used on metal/plastic tracks, and NOT wood slides/grooves. It is petroleum based and will alter the molecular structure of the wood fiber surface as it seeps in. It'll work well for a while, until the wood swells and starts getting stuck. Unles you have a mini chisel-plane on hand, I'd avoid using vaseline. If you don't have paste wax or a bar of soap, just wait to put anything on the slides and grooves. It isn't like they will wear out in a few months. You've got time to acquire what you need. Some drawer slides on furniture take a hundred years of moderate use before needing to be modified and rebuilt. :tu:

Ya know, I get the idea, but I am weary of recommending anything I haven't had experience with as a furniture restorer.
And on top of that, there are many types of candles. Beeswax would be the only type I would try. But, beeswax candles are uncommon and hard to differentiate from other candle types if you don't mess with candles often. :ahhh

 :hatsoff:

When I got mine, I was blown away at the quality vs. cost. The fact it can even be locked is awesome as well. Not that we would need to, unless you had kids running around or had a party where you didn't know some of the guests. :ahhh

So much want :(
The great thing is that it is about the same price as a good multitool. :)
