Day 26

Didn't grab pics of opening the expired MRE we're splitting for dinner... Breakfast? Whatever meal we're on now. Heavy flooding and roadway damage all around the southern end of the valley so we're staffing the EOC coordinating for a hell of a crew of first responders and community volunteers. It's going to be a long weekend. Anyway I'm carrying the sportsman still.

By some miracle every resident is accounted for so far. My relief radio operator rolled in a bit ago so it's nap time! Figured I'd catch up on my social media/texts etc. before I do.

Now you know I like that black pioneer of yours, and its one of the reasons I will be getting one. But your coffee cup totally caught my eye yelling at me! Is it a dinosaur skeleton?  :like:

Thanks!

Boston Stoker is a Dayton Ohio area coffee chain. Started in the 70s (I think) as a cigar bar type place.

This particular blend is their custom house organic blend. It's pretty smooth. It's a good one to start the day with  :tu:

You should definitely pick one up, especially now while it seems to be a standard color.

And yep, that's a tricerotops skeleton :tu:

I'm from Ohio! Still have a lot of family in the Cleveland-ish area. If I ever make my way to Dayton I may have to grab a cup....

Day 27

I've been sitting at the computer working most of the day, I haven't used a SAK per se, but in my breaks I did sand and polish the badly scratched up blade of my recently acquired 108 mm GAK. As it's a 2 layer knife, it fits the challenge criteria.

And now for something completely different... Package opening. A Lansky Turnbox arrived tried it on the Golfer, made it even sharper. Good little kit.

Had to look that one up.  It seems a lot like the spyderco sharpener, but less expensive.

How do you like it?

Yeah, basically a budget Spyderco Sharpmaker (which costs a small fortune here), or at least the same concept in a slightly different package. I like it very much so far. I just needed a couple of minutes to get the hang of it, I mean my hand and wrist had to get used to holding the blade right, but after that it's a breeze! Sharpens blades hair popping sharp. I'm very satisfied with this purchase and I can highly recommend it.
