Hey folks,I am looking for infos on the new Victorinox Delémont line knives. What I'd like to know is which tools in these differ from the ones used in regular Wenger knives. As far as I can tell, only the can opener looks noticeably different. Does anybody have a new Vic Delémont and an old Wenger (with several tools) to compare them? For example, is the Vic Delémont metal file made of stainless steel, like on current production Victorinox knives? On a more specific note, has anyone tried modding these? Are tools and pieces compatible with ones from Wenger knives? Is the pin size like Wenger or like Victorinox pins?
Thanks folks and great comparison pictures!I could be wrong, but it looks to me the shape of the blade is slightly different as well?I wonder why they changed the can opener. I am quite sure some people preferred Wenger shape over Vic's, so they could have left them with a choice.
Furthermore Wenger used to have their scales fall over the outer liners, while with the Delemont line, the scales are on top of the liners like it's always been with Vic.This also brings up the tweezers and toothpick. These became the Vic models too.
Very nice Gareth. One of them might just cure me of my long term project to obtain WSpeed's Walnut Spartan by stealth ...
