So the version with less tools in it, is more expensive than the version with a full set of tools!?

Looks like the "knifeless" version has a pair of scissors in it......must be an expensive pair of scissors then?

Happy monday everyone!  :drink:

it's usually the same with other brands.

Gerber Dime Travel (Bladeless) costs more than Gerber Dime
SOG Powerlock Travel (Bladeless) costs more than a standard Powerlock  :ahhh
etc.

might have to do with the amount of units that they need to make and produce?  ??? (less units of that model raises the price, the more they make, the cheaper to source the parts, machining and manufacturing processes and steps)
My toys:

Yes that has always confused me  Never understood that either, all I can figure out is they consider it a "special version" of the Rebar and that is the reason for the price hike ::)

I also agree with what Peacent says about it :tu:

But the price difference is so much, that it doesn't even make sense to get the Knifeless version...

It is actually more feasible to just buy the regular version and just remove the knives and still have money left for modding in a bit holder or something like that..

...which in other words; makes the Knifeless version pretty much completely redundant?

Drink to that logic, I guess  :drink:

Beauty!   :like:

It is exactly something like that I want as the end result. Just so its basically pliers and screwdrivers with the option of various bits attachments.

1) that's all I need and ever use in a multitool
2) I can carry it legally with me in public places and pretty much anywhere, including traveling

The thing I’ve found with these Knifeless versions that they can still be confiscated. Maybe it’s the saw, or the can opener, or even just the pliers. Just really depends on the perceptions of the person in power.

I had my mini nail clipper confiscated one time, then when I get on the plane they gave me metal cutlery (including a metal knife).........Rest assure that airport security is there for ones safety, because I felt much safer after having my nail clipper confiscated, because everyone knows that plane hijackers go to weapon are nail clippers and not likely a metal knife.

Pliers are not allowed on many (all?) European planes. I've seen pliers explicitly mentioned as prohibited in some guidelines.

I don't know where you have seen that, but that is not true. I have had a pair of mini pliers in my carry on for the last 2 years and had them looked at by several airport security staff. They all said that they were fine as long as they were under (I think) 3 or 4 inches. Countries include; Denmark, Italy, UK, Ireland, Holland and USA.

"Tenger" means "pliers" in Norwegian, "Håndbagasje" means "carry-on luggage", and "Nei" means "No".

Avinor is the company which runs all major airports in Norway, so for Norway, pliers are explicitly disallowed very much from the horse's mouth. I am happy for you that other places are not as restrictive. I simply assumed this was the same in all of Schengen.

Hmm...interesting, yeah maybe that is just for norway....or maybe I have just been lucky then?  ???

Well at least you can bring "Håndjern" on board in case things get kinky
