Day 5:

Used the awl to make a couple of holes in a piece of seatbelt to get my filter remover thingy back in shape The awl is sharp and have done a good job so far.

Used the knife to open some packs of food items for dinner, no pics.

Thanks guys It was a very nice walk, almost late for work even

Day 6 continued:

Used the scissors to open a packet of grease for a new brake calipper, I think they cut well just a little awkward to use.

Needlenose pliers to remove staples for a brake calipper box, easy to get under with the thin end on the pliers

Blade to open a different brake calipper box, still sharp

So, RF, how do you like the compound leverage of those pliers?

Haven't really used the pliers much yet so can't really say. But I'm sure I'll get the chance during the challenge It was a bit unusual to open the handles but I'm getting quite used to it by now

Back when I used a PowerLock, I never liked that you couldn’t really use it with the handles open (leverage, reach)

The force you can put on the pliers is stellar, however :tu:

My favorite thing about the PL(aside from the pliers and end-user customizable tools), is that even when it get filthy and gunked up, it functions as it should. The tolerances are kind of loose, but that is the benefit. On the flip side, Swisstools have to be cleaned very often or you'll break nails and Leathermans/Gerbers get tight without some sporadic cleaning as well. :ahhh

Thanks

Day 7 continued:

Flathead driver to open a hatch, did great as usual.

Tried the cutters on a welding wire. Some marks but I don't think it makes a whole lot of difference on performance, not yet at least. We'll see how it holds up

Scissors did great at cutting some shrink tube Seems I was a bit luckier with the scissors than others here.

Wire crimper worked great, as long as it's not too thight a space

Excellent work again RF52  :like: :tu:
Surprised that you got marks
on the pliers for cutting welding wire
Looks like it’s only mig welding wire only about 1.6mm
Good news that your scissors work on your PowerLock

Was surprised by that too, but I'm gonna have a closer look later I don't think it's anything serious.

Day 8:

A beauty pic from the woods today.
Great to start the day with a 2+ hour walk in the woods with the dog

And tried the file on a small branch, did file the wood but it's a very fine file(both sides)
And I still would like it to be all the way out.

That is probably it for today as I have the day of and we are going to a concert later this evening
