It will be something he learns to live with, there’s nothing they can do apparently. At first he was bumping into things on the right side but he seems to have got used to it quickly and is now running around normally.

I should collect more 111mm blades... Sadly I'm out of any spare scales of any kind.
I'm not certain if they do the same in England, but in the US one can often get knives that were seized by airports on the second hand market. That's how I grew and continue to grow much of my collection on a humble budget   :tu: not sure what Shipping from the US to the UK would run, but if you search eBay for "NTSA" there's much to be browsed!

Maybe do something up in nice green scales and have it etched commemorating Boris's good fortune!

Glad everyone was safe. I hope the insurance comes in without too much hassle.

Just had a quick try at grinding as you suggested. It’s getting there, a bit more profiling and a polish and it will be good as new.
(Image removed from quote.)
Unfortunately the 111mm is a slide lock and it’s the slide that’s the tricky part to get hold of.

Fine piece of work on the yellow Compact, mate !

For your 111, the only way to go is to have it serviced by Victorinox, which is normally free of charge.

At worst it will cost you postage.

Boris is only 5 years old but will only grow another couple of inches. He was at a tortoise gathering a couple of weeks ago where he had a fine time running rings round a couple of hundred year old plus tortoises.
The insurance are quite happy to throw money at me but are being slow at getting the contractors organised.
I didn’t know about the victorinox service option, thanks for letting me know.

Whoa,I thought the turtle was one of those tiny ones living in aquarium-like boxes. This one is a walking table! Glad nobody got hurt, thought it's sad to hear about the fire... :(

And the England-Europe joke was pretty cool  :pok: :D (sorry I'm kinda late to this thread )

After 8 years +/-, they were something like this:
