My Pen Knife and Tool Collection
on: August 01, 2018, 05:23:42 AM
This is the larger part of my pen knife and pen tool collection.  My biggest requirement is that it should look like a pen or marker in my pocket.  If it also writes bonus points.

In the upper photo top row is black and silver w/gold Case XX pen knives. Second and third row are Japanese made "The Cavalier" pen knives. Four row is a large and small set of Blue Case XX pen knives.

In the lower photo is a Pentool, second row is an off brand pocket pointer, third row is an Executive Edge pen knife and a Boker Urban pen knife, fourth row is a Parker pen knife and a Camo Boker. The bottom row is an off brand combo laser pointer, flashlight, and pen and a promo multi screwdriver that looks like a marker.

Nice ones Yadda! I'm glad to see someone else likes pen(or pencil)knives. I have a few of them including a couple of souvenir pencil knives from Cuba that were made in Germany. Hard to say exactly when they were made but they both have Stanhope viewers in them with some soft core porn circa 1900.I have a couple different styles made by B&B out of Chicago.I have an unusual slide blade model by Duro-Lite and one that has two blades and the pencil stows inside the handle. My oldest one is an ivory handled model by Unwin & Rogers(who were more known for their knife pistols)that dates to around the 1850's!

Great stuff, Ray! Thank you for sharing.

I have always like folding knife pens, but haven't been able to find a place in my EDC for one. That is something that may need to be remedied. :)

Get one of the Executive Edge knives.  Looks like a pen in your shirt pocket.

Over here, those would be considered weapons and forbiden to carry/own. Any knife that is "disguised" is a concealed, thus forbiden, weapon. It goes for belt buckle knives, pen knives, canes with blades inside, etc.

That is sad that certain items that were never meant to be weapons are classified as such. Thankfully most of the states in the USA are finally removing the restrictions against automatic knives. However you still have to contend with laws within certain cities and towns that can be downright ridiculous and are wildly interpreted. As an example many states forbid carrying a pocket knife with a blade that exceeds 3 inches(75mm)in length. But how is that length measured? Is it the cutting edge only? does it include the tang as well? Nobody seems to have a definite answer and if you ask ten people about it you will likely get ten different answers.
What about when you are traveling;even within your own state? In some towns in Michigan if you are stopped for a motor vehicle infraction and you have a pocket knife on you(regardless of blade length)you can be charged(under a town ordinance)with carrying a concealed weapon which is a felony. Some will even consider a knife carried in a belt pouch as carrying concealed! And ignorance of a particular law is no justification for innocence. Don't even get me started on laws regarding carrying a concealed pistol! Although I have had a concealed pistol permit since 1971 I no longer carry it because of all the potential problems involved. If you're a criminal you don't worry about those things.
