For my usage: which mostly involves cutting electrical wires or zip ties, I often found that the blunt edge on the cutters were kind of struggling and didn’t cut all the way through.

So after I tried sharpening them as seen in pictures below, I’m pleasantly surprised with the results. They cut through electrical wire like a hot knife through butter and it’s a lot more of a cleaner cut as well.

I’ll see how well they hold up over time.

But I wouldn’t recommend doing this if you are using your cutters for cutting screws or nails, but not bad for plastic and electrical wires.

But regardless, if all comes to worse, they are easily replaceable, so no big deal

Just for reference; this is how the same wire was cut before.

As you can see, it was not very pretty cuts, and several times it didn’t even cut all the way through.

And this is the type of wire (came off an old TV from the late 90s / early 2000s):

Nice job, how did you sharpen them ?

I used this “multi function sharpener”; I bought in Aldi ages ago, which was originally designed for drill bits and scissors etc, but I have modified to accept bigger jobs

Nicely done.  The cutters are 154CM so they should hold up well.
