The Herbalist - new SAK mod.

My daughter was 21 last week. She's a self taught herbalist and although she's been using a SAK of one kind or another for years (Climber and Explorer) while out collecting plants, I wanted to make her something specific.

So here is the Herbalist. Large safety blade, in-line awl, scissors, saw, mag glass and hook with file, wrapped off with bright yellow plus scales.

Had one knocking around and I figured that on the very small offchance that my daughter was stopped and searched a safety blade looks better. She's got plenty of other SAK's with normal blades.

I turned 56 last week. As a gardener I spend many a day weeding out all kinds of herbs and wildflowers, yet I know very little about them. I envy your daughter.

BTW, the inline awl has a 3mm hole, right? How do you guys reduce the hole to use on a 2.5mm pivot?

Although my herb knowledge is limited, this is one I do know, I gathered some this afternoon: Water Mint. It makes for a nice cup of tea. The plants are still young and only beginning to bear flowers, I´ll gather some more in the weeks to come.
