And a picture of the complete set plus the Dutch Police instruction guide.

Found this standard Leatherman Wave (date code 0807) as once used by the Regional Police Utrecht.

'Eigendom Politie Utrecht 'means Property (of) Police Utrecht.

This "Regio Politie Utrecht" consisted of 29 municipals, with 1,2 million residents. Total police officers & administration was about 3800.
In 2013 the Dutch police was reorganized into the Nationale Politie (National Police), and as a consequence all Regional Police Forces were transformed into this one police force, the National Police.

These LM Waves were only supplied to members of  the so called 'Aanhoudings Eenheid' (Apprehension Team), a sort of 'SWAT light' (not to be confused with the 'Arresting Teams').
At max only 100 were made with this text.

And there is more to come this week.
I just received a phone call. Two more Dutch law enforcement multi-tools are making their way towards me!
I will keep you all informed.

Neither one!
About two month ago I had a long chat with a bunch of retired cops. We chitchatted about the past and our lives. These old cops ask each other the same questions: Still alive? Remember him or her? What are you doing these days? You have hobbies?
Well, I told some of them I collect SAK's. Some looked at me if I was from another planet, but most were enthusiastic. One told me his son has this old Leatherman from Utrecht Police, and he would ask his son if I could have it. Well, it took some time, but finally he gave me his. In return I gave him a Dutch Army SwissTool (yep, the BO type).
When I received this multi-tool, another oldie told me he also has a multi-tool for me, not a LM, but a Chinese copy, however with police logo.
He promised me to give it to me today. But... he forgot to take it with him. So, now I have to wait for at least another week.

Tomorrow I will receive a picture of the latest LM, but with a different text. That one is not n my collection, unfortunately!

Exactly! Talking with people is the best way, in my opinion. Convincing people to give, swap or sell an item especially to you is just fun.
Sometimes you're lucky, sometimes not.

Attached the promised picture of the Dutch Police Wave+. It is not in my collection, but maybe one day... Who knows.
I noticed the diamond file tool is not opened. Well, I will ask him for a better picture. Have patience.

The multi-tool itself is exactly the same as the one described earlier, but the text on the slab is different. "Politie eigendom" (Police property) instead of "Politie" with the logo on the 'o'.
Only the first batch of the Dutch police Wave+ has the 'Politie eigendom' text on it. Later batches have the 'Police with logo' text. These latter ones are the most commonly seen.

The word 'politie' with the stylish burning flame on the 'o' is copyrighted! My guess is that the word 'eigendom' (property) was not necessary because ALL police equipment and clothing is government property by decree.

Today some pictures of the Worst Multi-tool Ever.
It was probably was a promotional gift (how on earth can you promote something with this thing?).

What ever, these also were given to police personnel who are assigned as first responders within the organisation, for example during fire alarm in the office, or as a medic when co-workers get sick or wounded.

Found this German "BKA multi-tool" plus badge!

BKA stands for Bundes Kriminal Amt, or in good French: 'Federal Criminal Investigation Bureau'. It is a bit comparable to the US FBI.
The badge is from the Abteilung "Polizeilicher Staatsschutz" (ST), or Police Division for State Security.

It probably is a give-away item, for representational purposes only. But still it's a nice multi-tool which is very hard to find!

My newest addition: an unbranded Police knife (Politie Haaglanden).

Before the formation of the National Police, each corps could purchase its own knife, there was no standardization yet.
Until 1 January 2013, Haaglanden police was a regional corps of nine municipalities: The Hague, Wassenaar, Leidschendam-Voorburg, Rijswijk, Pijnacker-Nootdorp, Zoetermeer, Delft, Midden-Delfland and Westland.

When the National Police was introduced on 1 January 2013, the Haaglanden police region was merged with the Hollands Midden police region to form The Hague Regional Unit, one of the ten regional units.

Probably a cheap Chinese made multi-tool. Used by Dutch Regio Politie Haaglanden Verkeersdienst (Traffic Police). Picture found on the internet.

SOG Toolclip clone.
Thirteen in a dozen of those made in China
But the police branding makes this one worthwhile

Definitely a Chinese copy of the Buck 360.

Fun fact: the copies are much rarer than the actual Buck 360 tool made by Buck.

This is probably the least attractive and worst quality mult-tool in my collection.
Nevertheless, it's a Dutch police 'multi-tool' (sort of)!
I think it can be dated between 1995 and 2002.
Getronics was an ICT company.

Last week there was a fragment on tv of Dutch police officers dismantling a XTC-lab. I made a screen shot of the moment that one of the unrecognizable officers opened a plastic bag or container, using a Victorinox Rescue knife. Probably this knife was payed for by the agency.

BTW: The Netherlands is the worlds largest XTC producing and exporting country in the world. Nothing to be proud of...

Do you remember my posting on August 28, 2018, 11:11:34 PM ?
Well, here is the official knife: A Victorinox RescueTool 0.8623.MN.
It's the same type of knife as used in the video of the dismantling of a drugs lab. The knife was official standard equipment of Dutch Forensics police officers.
LTFO = Landelijk Team Forensische Opsporing. Which translates into something like: Nationwide Team Forensic Investigating.

I like that!  I used to carry a GAK 111 as my duty carry. For the past few years, it's been a Swisstool RS.
