Nice job
Awesome job John! That's the only way I'll carry a shard. Love it, but that pointy phillips can't stay on for me!

The Shard is great as is if you want to just throw it in your pocket, but like you said, that phillips just doesn't fly on a keychain. It's funny how times change. In 2006 I had one of the best Atwood collections around, including 8 Damascus pieces and very rare one off's. Peter used to make me whatever I wanted. Now I'm carrying a Gerber Shard.

Cool mod. although the Phillips screwdriver is something that for me personally completes the Shard as one the smallest, cheapest and most useful one-piece mini key chain multi-tools.I own the gen in Ti Nitride coat but since sourced few replicas for about $2 each and modded them to fit and finish of the original. It's really hard to tell the Shard I did in stone-wash finish below, is actually a fake.Cheers

I did the same to my Shard yesterday. Found that the phillips driver kept catching in my pockets so hacksawed the tip off and ground it down to a smooth radius.Much better now.
