Spirit Warranty Question.
on: September 10, 2018, 04:46:49 AM
I have had issues with the scissors on my Spirit. They keep getting jammed up. I've cleaned them, taken the spring apart and nothing seems to work. I'm  ready to send them in for warranty work. Has anyone sent them in for something like this?
I knew my wife was a keeper when she transitioned from calling it a knife thingy to a multi-tool.

Have you checked for burrs on the cutting edge, Joe?

I checked the cutting edge and it looks pretty straight-no burrs..

Hmmm...

Does it feel flat? Sometimes the finger will find what the eyes can't see. If you feel any undulations or bruising, a light wipe on a stone might help it.

I doubt the pivot will have galled, so the only other thing I can think of is debris between the blades in the pivot area. If you (or someone you know) has an ultrasonic cleaner, it might be worth giving that a go.

Failing that, I think you're right - it's warranty time.  :salute:

Ill try a swipe on the sharpener. If that doesn't work, off to warranty it goes!
