Knife without keyring, suspension clip workaround
on:

I've been having issues carrying my favourite SAKs lately.
I wanted to carry my 84mm Golfer but it comes without a keyring.
Some people like a SAK or other knife better that way, but I like to attach a suspension clip to keep the knife upright in my pocket.
This caused me to carry a select few SAKs while I would've liked to carry other models too.
I also attached a removable clip to the suspension clip so I can switch it over from one knife to the other without having to open the split ring every time. Especialy when being in a hurry, this was not an option.
Something had to be done!!
I once bought a second hand Spartan at a garage sale and it came with an old, handmade, leather slip.
I gifted the knife away a long time ago but the slip is still here.
I decided to grab my cheapo-eye-cutting pliers and spare metal rings...
And voila!
Now every single 1-4 layer SAK can be pocket carried on a suspension clip, and it's protected from other stuff in my pockets at the same time!
I'll be looking into trying to shorten the total length of the clip, but for now I think this will open a new world of carrying a SAK for me.

Small update, the split ring fits perfectly over the remaining leather so it's a neatly short clip now.
Perfect!

And here I was thinking this was something that was so obvious that nobody considered it.

Metro also makes very nifty pocket sleeves, namely the P1, P2 and the P3. Very nice, I carry one of those all the time! They can also be very easily fitted with a steel eye in order to attach it to a lanyard! I actually use the Copperhead’s key ring.

Great idea for a work around Nick
I have a SAK or 2 that could benefit from that
Perhaps even a MT or 2

Nice solution to the problem. I need to make one of those for my mid-1960's tinker.
