that I would have a use for it
but for survival it could be handy  :tu:

It will be interesting to see what you think of it Grant
when you get them and can test one

Being in Italy, I don't think they'll have any problem in getting some leather working company to make a pouch/sheath for it (with some extra features, even).

Airsoft?

For taking care of the guns, opening ammunition packages, cutting branches to use for cover...

Not my type of tool.

I do wonder...
Survival tool?
Why would you need tiny wrenches or a bit in a survival situation?

Wouldn't you be better off with just a fixed blade or hatchet?

I like the creativity... but just can't see what sets this tool apart from others.

Survival situations are not restricted to the great outdoors. It can be in any environment (urban, plane/train/car crash, sea...). Even in the woods, you might need the wrenches/bits to repair some equipment (like a radio to call for help).

Yes, you could use it in escalators, too. Nice call!

Still, this is a survival oriented tool, and I think we need to take that into consideration as well.  If it gets me out of a dangerous situation alive, I am willing to risk a few scratches to do what needs to be done.  I think if this were an EDC oriented tool, then yes, I may be a bit more concerned about cutting open my hands every time I tried opening a bottle or tightening a screw.
I disagree.  In a disaster or survival situation the last thing I think you need is a tool that will injure you when you are least able to get medical care.  A traditional SAK or MT allows you to deploy one tool at a time, keeping blades, saws, awls and such tucked safely inside the tool so you don't injure yourself while screwing, prying, opening a can etc.
I'd rather have a Farmer in my pocket than any of these tools wearing a hole in my wallet.

Because you might not be on foot.

You may have arrived at that location by bicycle, quad bike, kayak, river boat, microlight .... even if that transport is irreparable, you might want to tap off some fuel, rip out cables for cordage, get a spark off the battery....

So I'd need a dinner plate sized tool instead of a SAK?

Again, I like the thinking and engineering, but for the money you can get a brand new Huntsman.

Ok, no wenches... but you won't be opening up car parts with these either.

Anyway, I understand there are people who really like this design and I respect that. I, myself, just can't see any advantages of this tool...

I noticed the bit is what makes the tool thicker. I wonder if it can be replaced by a flat bit, like LM bits.

If you like the idea and it works, no need for royalties. Just send me one, so I can test it myself.

I think they could do it with flat bits but tool loses versatility. Its easier to find 1/4hex bits rather than flat bits

Just a short update for everyone- the AXEM 4.0's are just being completed in Italy and will be sent to me soon.  Steel Life sent me this short video so I knew it wasn't vaporware!  :D
