Pics also help if they are included in the thread as most here might not ask for them but might be more interested if they just see the pics ;)

You'll need to resize pics down to 1024 kB max before attempting to upload (up to 4 per post via the web site).

 :iagree:

Come on MTo! It's almost 2020! We STILL have to resize the photos manually in order to be able to upload??? There must be a plugin, a module something that does this automatically!

If you use Tapatalk you don’t have to resize them, the app does it for you

Welcome to Mto Kyle  :salute:
You might get a better response from the community here by introducing yourself before starting a bunch of threads selling to the members here

Why are your eBay prices lower though?  https://www.ebay.com/sch/knifetrader0351/m.html?item=153188732851&epid=1900684335&hash=item23aac28fb3%3Ag%3ADQwAAOSwGhxbpAcy&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562
PST Ford $40 with BO
BO Mini $70 with BO

^^^^

Really?
This is just taking the piss!

Thanks for the welcome. Just found the site recently and figured some of the members would enjoy these more than them sitting in my safe. I posted here before posting to Ebay which is when I reevaluated my prices to post on there. Now I cant edit my original post but did comment here lowering my price. Thanks for the help everyone.  :climber:

It seems like you intend to use MTO as an information source and a venue to sell things only. Not sure how it sits with the Mods. eBay takes 10% from the sale prices, so to have a remote chance to sell here, your prices should be at least 10% lower than the prices you are willing to take on eBay. Not to mention the unprotected nature of buying directly from a stranger. Just my 2c.

Interestingly, I think most people on this forum do use it for informational purposes. Quite a lot of the folks here use this forum to sell thier goods as well.

SOME members here do also fraternize and become social, but I don't know that it is required so much as it is appreciated.

Another interesting point: when I do business with someone, my deal with them is my deal with them, no matter what someone else'a deal with them might be. If I think a price is worth it to me, I bite, no matter of someone else got a better, or worse, offer.

Having said that, if there is a way to stop new members from PM ing until they reach a number of posts, couldnt there also be a way to prevent new members from postinh in the for sale section until reaching a certain (higher, say, 200) number of posts as well? Do we even want to do that? If so, that would go a long way to stopping bull*bleep* like someone joining, posting a bunch of stuff for sale, making money, and walking away. All while being dismissive and cavalier towards established and Charter Members at that. At least one would have to be invested for a while before one could cash in.

Any other thoughts or am I all wet?

Its always nice to introduce oneself for sure.  Certainly not required nor enforced.  Lots of members join to gain information yet never participate.  Some come on strictly to sell or join in on the Anniversary giveaways.  I don't think we have a hard and fast rule on most anything.  There is a suggested contribution when someone sells.  Its always awesome when someone comes on to sell and does sell and contributes ( donation ).  It would be awesome for them to stick around as well.  All potential buyers always have the option to not deal with those who appear to come here strictly to sell and not contribute in any way.

Thats the way I see it.

I would think most people here are familiar with many tools and their market prices. If someone pops in to just to sell and list them at exorbitant prices, I am quite sure no one here will bite. The thing is sometimes there will be interesting stuffs or really good deals that new members may bring in. Which I think will really benefit the community here. Setting additional rules to sell may be too cumbersome for them. Of course as Aloha said, a proper introduction is greatly welcomed. Choices of payment methods are important as well. Ie PayPal protection etc... My 2cts..

I have a bridge to list for sale soon  :D I only bought from a member on MTO once. It took weeks for me to get the items, due to the member's personal issues. I was concerned while waiting, but not worried, as he was an established member. So, that reputation was a sort of an assurance for me to deal with the person. In a sense, the forum participation is sort of members looking out for each other, as we can generally gauge the personality of the person we have conversation with. It is a private matter when money is changed hand between two individuals, but personally, I feel good when seeing or helping fellow members get good deals.
