Thanks Guys.
Getting that shot might be one of the biggest Challenges of this challenge, must have made 30 out takes  :poh: to get the pose and lighting right, not to mention the fluidity of the fog.  :ahhh
Sure was fun though. :woohoo:

Uahahahaaahh...

The haunting starts! Haunted by Douglas' brilliant picture :tu:

Day 1 of the challenge would not be day 1 if it were not Monday morning and I wouldn't have a shot of coffee... duly guarded, of course :D

OK, I'll give this a shot. Due to life events I can't promise to make it through all 30 days.

Day 1:

Spirit tightening the antenna on the wife's Toyota sienna. It's got such a narrow access channel I can't fit a proper wrench (spanner for our friends across the pond) on it.

Day 1

Adjusting the tension on the milwaukee fastback utility knife. It was a bit too stiff.

Day one , the Spirit and it’s stablemates for the Duration of the trial . Duties so far , cleaning fingernails , Spirit sharpend and polished . The Folders are a Strider PT , and a ZT 0460 ( carried i. the shirt pocket siding my pens ) . The Emerson La Griffe , as I’m going for a walk down the Grand river trail . The only SAK related piece on my person is an Alox MiniChamp . I have a Swisstool X , a pair of Leatherman Raptors , and a Vic. Rescue tool in my go bag . These don’t get used in the course of a normal day .

Day 01 :

Off to a fine start.

This morning I used the awl to improve the air flow in a disposable coffee cup lid--the coffee turned out to be more trick than treat.... :(  But the awl was great!

Then the postman brought me a new camo/blaze orange bucket hat for use in the woods during gun season:

Today is an example of why the awl, scissors, and knife continue to be my three favorite tools in any multitool.  :tu:

Day 1.

Thankfully I didn't need to resort to either Pliers, Awl or Saw (really Barry, really ?!) to retrieve my tea bag* from my morning cup of tea. Because there was a clean spoon in the canteen. But I'll keep the idea in mind ...

So this evening chopped up some more salad this time with my drop point bladed Spirit X. As you'd expect the radishes, spring onion and tomato were more obliging than with the wavy edge blade.

*Sadly tea bag quality at work no match to yours Barry I'd bet.

'Save your leg?' Nothing serious, I hope?

I just have a nasty blister on the ball of my foot. can't really walk with it and spending an entire day with sweaty socks in a shoe is probably not the best thing for it

Bummer, Styx... :(

Somewhere I was taught to make a doughnut cushion to take pressure off the blister. Like this:

I think there are some fancier 'gel pad' products now that incorporate a 'doughnut cushion.' I haven't tried that, but they sound nice.....

The basic idea is to relieve the pressure and friction on the spot that is blistered. If the blister is broken, be sure to clean it well. An open wound in a warm and sweaty shoe is a recipe for a foot infection. Not a good idea.

Quick healing!

(p.s. The Spirit's scissors would be ideal for making such a blister doughnut cushion.)

Is it too late to join? Also, does using the bit kit count as well? Here the spirit doing some light matience on the Jeep.

Perfect timing!

And sure, bit kits count....heck, they are encouraged!

(Do label your photos Day 1, or 01 Oct, or 10/1, etc.... so the mods can keep track of everyone's photos more easily.  :tu:)

As Tank designers would say , my Spirit’s been “ up gunned , and up armoured “ by adding a bit kit redux , containing 5 double ended bits . The bit adaptor that slides over the phlips , lives under the pouch flap . It’s lighter and more capable than extra 1/4” hex bits . I had good luck with the Bit Kit Redux , I tried on my Skelerool , so now I’m trying the concept on the Spirit and Wave .  The cord holding the bit kit also acts as a baby finger lanyard .

Best Regards ,

Chris
