I've done that trick with a SAK awl a bunch of times over the years buddy!
Day 01 :

Off to a fine start.

This morning I used the awl to improve the air flow in a disposable coffee cup lid--the coffee turned out to be more trick than treat.... :(  But the awl was great!

Then the postman brought me a new camo/blaze orange bucket hat for use in the woods during gun season:

Today is an example of why the awl, scissors, and knife continue to be my three favorite tools in any multitool.  :tu:

Good Start and thanks for all the comments on HAUNTED.  I have a few more ideas so I may revisit the concept.

I wish the Spirit could teach me how to shrink images from my IPad mini camera , so i wouldn’t have to use a very old Olumpus digital camera as a go between . I have Tapatalk , but being a techno peasant in some areas , haven’t figured out how to do that yet .

Best Regards ,

Chris

Day 1:

Busy day for my Spirit...

I work as a teacher and I have been carrying the Spirit X for a while now. Today alone I used 4 tools.

At recess I untangled some toys (with ropes) using:
Pliers and the small flat head screw driver (to separate the knots)

At lunch I used my awl to punch a hole in many juice bags (those things are a gush waiting to happen!  :ahhh )

I also used the 4 in one (aka multi-purpose tool) for opening a number of packages.

Note: It is hard to see, but I am using a 10mm titanium split ring between the S-Biner and dangler. I really love having the Spirit on this belt attachment. However, when I added keys to it, not so fun. I really really really hate car FOBS...they are just so hard to carry.

Cheers,
H.G.

Take a screen shot of the photo. I have the same problem with my iPhone. I just take a screen shot and crop the boarders and am able to post those edited ones. Don’t try to crop the original photos because it still will be too large.

I use Snapseed to shrink the size of the pictures. Open it and the select export.

Bummer, Styx... :(

Somewhere I was taught to make a doughnut cushion to take pressure off the blister. Like this:

(Image removed from quote.)

I think there are some fancier 'gel pad' products now that incorporate a 'doughnut cushion.' I haven't tried that, but they sound nice.....

The basic idea is to relieve the pressure and friction on the spot that is blistered. If the blister is broken, be sure to clean it well. An open wound in a warm and sweaty shoe is a recipe for a foot infection. Not a good idea.

Quick healing!

(p.s. The Spirit's scissors would be ideal for making such a blister doughnut cushion.)

Infection doesn't worry me too much. I've got a lot of booze to keep it clean and myself bad bacteria and virus free.

Nice pics everyone, great first day. to quote Deadpool - lets go out there and make a difference.
And while at it I should really make it easy on the mods and tell 'em who is in this
Solving problems you didn't know you had in the most obscure way possible

"And now, it's time to hand this over to our tame race axe driver. Some say, he can live in the forest for six months at a time without food, and he knows of a secret tribe of only women where he is their God. All we know is, he's call the Styx!" - TazzieRob

Day 2

Problems today with a conveyor drive, used the Phillips to remove the guard and the bit kit and wrench to remove the rather worn sprocket!

Day 2

Nice couple, the Spirit and this sheath, right?

Right... until I looked a bit closer - as you can see in the first pic each of the handles has a mark, both at about the same height.

The second pic explains why...  Need to cover the rivets... I don't object to marks denoting use, but sitting in a sheath?

Which is why I've relegated the Spirit to pocket carry for now. Where it almost goes unnoticed, I hasten to add, even better than the Wave (despite the lack of a pocket clip) as it is quite a bit slimmer.

Re pocket clip, I know about the Nite-Ize Hip Clip some people appear to have adorned the Spirit with. However, this clip only comes in silver, not in BO or even just plain black, and a silver clip would not fit the title "adornment" on a black Spirit, in my view. Anyone know of a more elegant solution (except tapping a screw hole in the pivot and fitting a cut-off BO Wave clip)?

Day 2:

Forgot to change the date on my watch yesterday. The crown is a screw down type, and since the watch body and crown are titanium, there's always a bit of galling which makes breaking the crown loose with my fingers a bit challenging. So, I put a bit of cloth over the crown and use the spirit to grip it through the cloth and break it loose.

Nice shot, Douglas!

Great uses, Barry.   :tu:  The Spirit really is an excellent tool. Every time I carry it, I wonder why I carry anything else.....

I will say that for the first time, just last night, I had trouble deploying the main blade.

My finger nails are short. After doing a lot of dish washing, they were also soft. The combination of short and soft meant that I couldn't get enough purchase on the nail nick to deploy the main blade. As I said, that's a first, but a bit concerning as we move into weather where gloves will be worn more.  :-\

My fingers are skinny enough that I can get a fingertip in the handle enough to basically pinch the blade open. Might be worth a shot. Pics below.

I've also got a thumbstud and have tried in the past to make a OHO mod, but couldn't successfully drill through the main blade. If anyone has any ideas, I'd love to be able to do that mod
