So far the Spirit X has mostly acted as ballast on my left hip , my main tool carry is predominantly on my right side .

Best Regards

Chris

day 5 - good bit of work today as well. sadly couldn't get a better pic than this

Solving problems you didn't know you had in the most obscure way possible

"And now, it's time to hand this over to our tame race axe driver. Some say, he can live in the forest for six months at a time without food, and he knows of a secret tribe of only women where he is their God. All we know is, he's call the Styx!" - TazzieRob

Day 3
It was a long office day again.
Only used the Spirit when I was back home, to open a letter.
I really like that PE blade of the Spirit  :tu:

I really like that PE blade of the Spirit  :tu:

Very nice blade , slices well , and a snap to sharpen , love it ! I also like the wire stripper/chisel tool . Not to mention the overbuilt bottle opener , that doubles for light duty prying .

A lot to like on the Spirit X !

Best Regards ,

Chris

I organized some of the Spirit accessories into a spare slip , I had on hand . I added the corkscrew , mainly as it keeps all the accessories in the same place , and keeps an eyeglass screwdriver handy .

Best Regards

Chris

Day 5

Used the pliers to fit a split pin in a coupling, I quite like the slightly blunt nose of the pliers, they seem to have more strength than the needle nose Leatherman type when performing any twisting action, and I like the fine serrations!

Totally agree . When you are dealing with cast pliers , the Spirit has a few things going for it , I’ll bet a dollar to a Donut , that Vic’s castings are cleaner than Leatherman’s , the extra hulk at the tips materially adds to the strength . I’ve seem quite a few pictures of broken Leatherman pliers , don’t recall seeing too many of broken Vic. Pliers . For the record , I have only witnessed one Leatherman plier head fail , it eas an original PST , I had gifted to a Dude , who was a bit of a doofus . I have petsonally broken two Gerber plier heads , while doing tasks that should have been within the envelope of safe flight , and failed the stainless handles of two SOG Paratools , while trying to crimp a Telco type “ B” connector . Again only a moderate use of pliers .

It was a pitty , as I quite liked the Paratool , I liked the way you could add and subtract tools from it .

Best Regards,

Chris

Day 05 :

I was out in the hills today with my hunting buddy. We were scouting a new location for hunting elk. Naturally it ended up being more like a 10 mile hike with a few distractions along the way.

We ended up climbing a 7000' hill with a nice view of the countryside:

Near the top we came across this remarkable tree:

It had broken, but then started to grow again. Seemed like a nice image of perseverance in hard times.

Snapped this pic of the Spirit back in the forest:

No uses for the Spirit while out in the woods, but, after returning home fairly exhausted, the Spirit went to work raising spirits......

Great photo’s! Not surprised that the tree is still growing after it broke...life will always find a way!

Day 6

Early morning beauty shot. Traveling today, so don't expect action shots, unless I am called upon to perform Scotty-type miracles on aeroplanes, ubers or hotel rooms.
Cheers!

And I like your letter pouches Chris  :like:

Btw, I've tried the LM bit driver as you use it on the Spirit. And I think it only holds on to the very tip/end of the Phillips which is not ideal.

So I have an idea for Christmas I guess (Victorinox bit wrench).

Oh, that reminds me... I'll have a look at the LM removable bit driver I've once modified to fit the Wave and Rebar. To be continued later today...

That last bit is intriguing Matt, if only for the question why you had to modify it to fit the Rebar - or do you mean it also fits a stock Wave?

Sorry, I've used the wrong term. I meant the discontinued Leatherman Tool Adapter.
I made it fit the Wave.

I'll see if it works with the Spirit and will post some pics later on.

I cheat , and put a  wrap of insulation tape around the phillips . If you can find one , they aren’t made anymore , the Old Skool Leathetman Universal Tool Adaptor fits perfectly on both the Spirit and Swisstool . I also use the Wera ratchet and the bit extender a lot , if I need real torque . You could also put in a thin piece of brass shimstock , a piece of Coke can also works , or even a piece of plastic from a take out coffee cup lid . I also have padlock shims in my pocket lockpick set . I would very much like to find another Leatherman Universal Tool Adaptor again .

Best Regards,

Chris
