Just admin crap today , working Tomm. Spirit helped out ! Giving serious thought to making a largerpouch for my spirit , capable of holding my Wera ratchet , and extension . Pics when I get a satisfactory setup ! I might just Cumshaw , and modify an old double mag pouch , which would be sensible , but like a true leathercraftsman , I’ll have to go the overengineered , overelaborate route !

Best Regards ,

Chris

day 15 - half way over. still surprised by how easy the Spirit carries in the pocket

Solving problems you didn't know you had in the most obscure way possible

"And now, it's time to hand this over to our tame race axe driver. Some say, he can live in the forest for six months at a time without food, and he knows of a secret tribe of only women where he is their God. All we know is, he's call the Styx!" - TazzieRob

Sadly , as I do a lot of climbing , and crawling , pocket carry is out for me , the Spirit is very smooth and slick , and would escape a pocket , all too easily !

Chris

I'm going to try pocket carrying mine tomorrow.  I have a 3 day, 2 night Scout campout this weekend and that might make packing the Spirit easier.

I would rig a lanyard , you can run a bit of gutted paracord through the brackets used for the corkscrew , the Spiritis a pretty slick tool , and could easily work it’s way out of pocket  .

I dug a double mag. pouch out of my stash , and set it up with the Spirit + accessories , plus a Surefire light , and a spare CR123A battery . Worth a try .

Tomm . I’ll be in a very secure site , where picture taking is frowned on , they let some of us hang onto our cell phones , as a courtsey . They also have a heavyduty non disclosure agreement in force. I’ll see what I can do before , and after work .

Best Regards,

Chris

Day 15:

I was just wondering what I would post about today, when I knocked a belt on the floor and stepped on it

At least it gave me something to use the spirit on, bending the tab back into place

Thanks mates!  I have a double mag pouch I can put to use.  For the life of me I can't find the lanyard attachment on my Spirit.

Day 15:

So I went on to a school campus today for work, in doing so I left these in my Jeep. After work I went to Blank Angus and forgot to get them out. Man I wish I had them on me. The steak knife I used was horrible. They’re never leaving my pocket again.

Pardon the terrible lighting but I finally got to put the Phillips head to use tightening down a piece of trim.

Day 16

In an attempt to answer the question I borrowed in my previous post, I have been playing around with some paracord in combination with two orifices which I won't be using for their intended purpose - the corkscrew. I've kept the lanyard short for the moment, but could put in a longer piece if necessary (maybe knotted). It doesn't impair any other of the Spirit's functions.

After a surprisingly short round of testing, I'm ready to declare this a failure.

The knots are fairly thick, which is a good thing if the only quality you're after is to keep the paracord locked in the handle. However, they are thick enough to interfere slightly with the pliers, and massively with the closing of the saw and file. So, no good, at least with this particular paracord. Maybe a thinner version?
