Given what the individual parts cost in the UK that's a definite yes

:iagree:
But only if you're going to use all the parts.  :pok: It might be best to arrange to buy one and split it in half with someone?

Pssst, that kit isn't big enough to replace the parts in all my SAK's

I also think its a good buy myself. Especially when my friend told me how much he paid for the 3 items he bought and then shipping. I would go for it myself.

Without knowing exactly how many parts are in there, I would say yes, I would pay $40 for that (but I haven't really done the math).

But than again, even if I couldn't use the parts, I would be interested just to add it to the collection  ::).

Edit: I know there's a list on the lit with the contents of the box, but I meant I haven't really looked at it, let alone done the math on what all of that would cost if bought separately ...

Edit 2: too late ... curse this tablet and its autocorrect .

The count is over 160 pieces! The lid has the amount of items and what the item is called.

It's worth the $40, but as already said, it depends on what you will actually use.

I voted no.

It would be a great idea as a group but but unless you have 111mm with pens, Swiss cards etc etc there's gonna be a load of bits you can't use. And like jaypeebee said- why no pins?

I voted yes as i have a lot of saks and sometimes things get lost or broken, i think i paid £35 for mine which i thought was a fair price, i think the only thing i would struggle to use would be the Swisscard pens as i only have one Swisscard and don't see me buying another, easy job to make a small wooden pen with them though..or mod an Ikea pencil :tu:

Don't have one yet but will. I think really, everyone who uses a number of SAKs (I'm constantly losing tweezers, and mini drivers tend to disappear occasionally), and buys used ones regularly (for me, it's been as many as a half-dozen a month), should have the kit. Locally, most of the scale tools are around $2 a piece, with mini drivers being $3, and when you're having to buy them regularly, that can add up.

It depends, how often you buy used Victorinox knives.

All combined it is great value, way cheaper than buying everything separately. Just do your calculation on simple things - toothpicks and tweezers - how many you probably need now and in couple of years. Then look on eBay for the current prices of separate and you will know the balance.

Personally I have 'invested' into a bigger parts box (extended version, Vic #4.0571). It has everything a SAK lover may need for a lifetime. The batteries ran out in 1 day, as I used them all. However other parts, like battery covers in different colors, I probably will never need at all.

As for the parts you don’t use...you probably wouldn’t use them right now, but they sure will be there when your come across a good deal in the future or a friend needs a part. Think of it as being a scout...be prepared.

You've all convinced me to change my vote. It's cheap for the parts you'll use and then you could offer the other parts to the rest of the forum - spread the good cheer around.
