Shaving with SAK
on: September 23, 2018, 01:54:24 PM
Has anyone ever tried shaving with SAK?

I did with my Swisstool X, and it did cut hairs. But not as good as the shaving razor. It was also more painful. It looked like it was also taking out skin while shaving.

So what is the difference between razor edges and SAK edges?

Best indication of how a knife will shave your face, without actually shaving your face first, is how well it will take hair off your arm.

While the Swiss army knives I've encountered could remove hair from my arms, not nearly as cleanly and efficiently as my Buck.

After testing on my arm and being wowed, I have indeed shaved my face and neck with my Buck 110 Paperstone Ecolite.

My Byrd Rescue 2 took hair off my arm just as well as my Buck, but I didn't trust the serrations against my skin without creating pizza

If it can’t shave your facial hair nicely it hasn’t been sharpened enough/properly. :poke: :D

Hooked, like everyone else. ;)

All hail the hook!

I don’t mind shaving with the double edge razors, but the straight razor I just start shaking. It just isn’t going to happen. I tried, boy did I try. I would have to live with a beard.

My SAKs shave hair on my legs and arms well, but when they are used to shave stubble beard, they seem struggle. I felt a bit sore on the skin too.
