Let the punishment commence!

Would it be extra nasty to allow the perp to choose their own punishment? They could all be pretty blummin severe.

You are cooking tonight Sarge  :salute:

Right... well, to continue with the rediculous foodie based theme developing here...

I remember... a long long time ago when I was a young scallywag, I tried to dodge a fair and jumped a ticket barrier on the Paris metro. I was promptly pulled up by humourless smurf gendarme fella and shown a list of potential fines. He ran his finger up and down the list for a bit before settling on, what he thought, was an appropriate penalty for me to cough up... which, without protest, I promptly forked out on account that he had a dirty big gat.

Anyway, this has got me thinking, maybe we should introduce something similar here - a list of penalties for thread derailment violations. I thought we could call it the Punishment Menu... what you think?

Sounds kinky!

A little bit of on- line research shows MMR to be Margaret Mortington-Rabbage, CEO of the British Cake Marketing Board. Hmmmmm do that's why she's always going on about cake.  She wants us to buy more cake! Mmmmmmmm cake.
I'm trying to decide if I should fire up the ol' google or not.
Hooked, like everyone else. ;)

All hail the hook!

For those who don’t know; this is how you make blueberry cake:

What you need:
225g/8oz Odlums Self Raising Flour
175g/6oz Shamrock Golden Caster Sugar
175g/6oz Butter (room temperature)
3 Large Eggs
1 Teaspoon Vanilla Essence
206ml Carton Soured Cream
3 x 125g punnets Blueberries
Icing

225g Tub Philadelphia Cream Cheese
125g/4oz Icing Sugar (sieved)

How to:
Preheat oven to 180°C/350°F/ Gas 4. Grease and base line a 22cms/9" round cake tin.

Put the flour, sugar, butter, eggs and vanilla essence into a bowl and beat until light in colour and well mixed. Stir in 4 tablespoons of the soured cream, finally, stir in half the blueberries with a large spoon.

Transfer to prepared tin and bake in central position of oven for about 50 minutes until risen, feels firm to the touch and springs back when lightly pressed.

Cool in tin for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire tray, remove the base paper and allow to cool.

Meanwhile, make the icing; beat the cheese, remaining soured cream and icing sugar in a bowl until smooth and creamy.

When cake is cold, spread icing on top and scatter on the remaining blueberries.

Note: Cake will keep in fridge for a few days but bring back to room temperature for about 1 hour before serving. Cake can also be frozen un-iced!

Lets get this derailment thread back on the rails.

Is this a food thread? Here’s my breakfast. Will I still be able to get my sticky Italian sausages after Brexit? Worries, worries.

Hey!

Anyone have a recipe for carrot cake? Preferably using rainbow carrots...

Certainly sir,

Below you will find a recipe to a lovely carrot cake:

Preheat the oven 170*C
Oil and line the base and sides of two 2lb loaf tins with baking parchment.

Ingredients:
300g light brown sugar.
3 free range eggs
300mls sunflower oil
300g plain flour
1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1/2 salt
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
300g grated carrot
100g chopped walnuts

Cream Cheese Frosting
300g Icing Sugar
50g unsalted butter
125g cream cheese

Method:
Put the sugar, eggs and oil in a bowl and whisk until well incorporated. Slowly add the flour, bicarbonate of soda baking powder, cinnamon, ginger, salt and vanilla.
Stir in the grated carrot and walnuts.
Pour the mixture into two 2lb loaf tins.
Bake for 20-25min or until golden brown.
Leave the cakes in the tin for a while, then turn out on a wire rack
Make cream cheese frosting by beating 300g icing sugar sifted with 50g unsalted butter. Add 125g cream cheese all in one go and beat until it is completely incorporated. Turn the mixer up and beat for at least 5min, until light and fluffy.
When your cakes are completely cold, spread the top with your frosting.

Tip: you can also put your cake mixture into 3x 20cm round cake tins or individual cup cakes.

So now you know how many grams there are in 1 Kilo.

Another lovely cake that I can highly recommend is Banana Cake

Heres how to make one:

Ingredients

140g butter
, softened, plus extra for the tin
140g caster sugar
2 large eggs, beaten
140g self-raising flour
1 tsp baking powder
2 very ripe bananas
, mashed
50g icing sugar
handful dried banana
 chips, for decoration

Instructions:

1) Heat oven to 180C/160C fan/gas 4.

2) Butter a 2lb loaf tin and line the base and sides with baking parchment.

3) Cream 140g softened butter and 140g caster sugar until light and fluffy, then slowly add 2 beaten large eggs with a little of the 140g flour.

4) Fold in the remaining flour, 1 tsp baking powder and 2 mashed bananas.

5) Pour into the tin and bake for about 30 mins until a skewer comes out clean.

6) Cool in the tin for 10 mins, then remove to a wire rack.

7) Mix 50g icing sugar with 2-3 tsp water to make a runny icing.

8) Drizzle the icing across the top of the cake and decorate with a handful of banana chips.

Always glad to help   :hatsoff:

Bravo Fred - that brekkie looks the biz. If you can't manage it all......

You may have Brexit worries but at least you no longer have Brekkie worries.  :tu:

Lets get this derailment thread back on the rails.

Old school.

(Image removed from quote.)

In hindsight, it might have been a mistake to allow the detainees to participate in the How to make Better Explosives class... or even have such a workshop in the first place...?

Fuzzy, it's a learning process. Next time we get some detainees that haven't exploded themselves and escaped, we'll know not to do that class.

I'm having second thoughts about the escape and evasion class now............

Is this a food thread? Here’s my breakfast. Will I still be able to get my sticky Italian sausages after Brexit? Worries, worries.

Rome wasn't effed up in a day Fuzzy. We're both new to this - fresh young innocents with a dream and absolutely no idea of how to go about the simplest of tasks, newborns if you will. But we are chasing that dream and by gum we won't stop until everybody's dead.

OK OK, here's your 'chocolate-ish' middencake. Pabs has pablo'ed it a bit - heavens only knows how you can pablo middencake, but he's managed to. If you don't like it, take it up with him.

There was plenty of middencake for everyone to enjoy endure. If Wspeed ate more than his fair share, take it up with him. Please don't blame the management.

For those who are not used to the metric system, 1 Kilo consists of 1000 grams, thereby the name "Kilogram"

1000 is this many:
