Interesting. Both of my Imperial Shcrade IMP22 and the larger IMP22L have sharper points than the Schrade you posted in the original thread. Here are mine compared to a Case Sodbuster CV blade in tomato red.

Nice comparison.  My only Soddie is a pair of Case Juniors which I fell in love with.

I hate that Photobucket is screwing with the original pics in this thread.

Here's my latest:

I paid $10 for this Aitor Sodbuster, with lovely wooden scales. The pic compares it against the Schrade Imperial IMP22 (the small version). It's almost identical in length, and the dimensions are similar, but has an even sharper point to the blade. The blade is highly polished, but not ground very well. It needs time on a lansky to be actually sharp. (The Schrade came sharp enough to cut receipt paper). No blade play, and lovely wooden handles. Has a half-stop and a very stiff backspring. Smooth action though, where the schrade feels like there is sand in the pivot (it's just a poorly finished backspring surface)

I like this knife very much, it's one of my favorites now. It just feels really good in my hands, those wooden scales are really something.

Charles.

Got a new GEC sodbuster to replace the older ones I have misplaced.

Compared to the older ones I have (had?)  it feels similar, but, the scales are from a different material/texture, more rubbery.
It is also in 1095 whereas the others I had were O1. Cuts OK.
Also, sadly, the pull is harder, as opposed to the older ones where it wa perfect.

I know... I really liked them, after a couple of months I caved in and ordered a replacement, hoping deeply that the O1s will magically show up, as it usually happens

That happened to me recently with my favourite Zebralight headlamp.  I searched and searched but couldn't find it, so I ordered another one.  Sure enough, the missing one turned up soon after (in an unexpected place of course), and a month and a half later the new one finally arrived (it seems Zebralight are having production and shipping issues at the moment)

That's a bummer.  Maybe you have to order yet another one to encourage the lost one to come out of hiding ?  You know, "one is none" etc   ;)   :pok:
