Last week I got the knife I designed and had made, it's turned out amazing, took it out yesterday into the local heath land yo do done testing out and it performed well  :tu: scandi grind bites and slices well forty a thick blade, it narrows almost like a flat grind but then narrows more to the scandi, it's also tappered on the full tang ,this makes it a well balanced knife ,5160 carbon steel, handle is bone and horn, very comfy ,came with a kydex sheath with dangler system , love this knife  :tu:

very nice. looks like a good design. :tu:
I have a custom knife that has an 8" blade with a tapered tang and the balance is much better than any full thickness tang knife I have.
5160 is supposed to be a good tough steel too.

From watching a lot of forged in fire I think 5160 was a great choice.  Its a looker for sure.  I'm reminded of the Paul and Michael song, Ebony and Ivory........

Thanks guys ,I'm really pleased with it as thick enough for battoning and fine enough for fine feather sticks , 5 and a half inch blade ,blade edge around 5 ,handle is a tad over 4inches but 4 and a half with the finger choil, these are in production and a load of people have ordered them , I've a few more ideas including a 4 and a half inch version and a neck knife  :tu:

  • Geometry cuts but the steel determines how long.

Actually, Kev was doing his job.  And I would think that you having been here for ten years, you'd have known all of this by now, or at least sent me a PM first, especially given all of the support you have gotten here over the years.  You know we support our own, and you should know how to go about it by now.

If you want to chat in a subtle PM, you know how to reach me, here, Instagram, Facebook or email.
