Damn! Whenever I see them have to dress/butcher catches I internally cringe. They're usually using a MT and the thought of all blood and what not getting into the joints and lingering there whilst they're out there  :dwts: Even worse in some ways with the current season, a surprising amount of them are using Swisstools, no tear down!

Merit Badges Build your own version of an MRE using off-the-shelf components, post a photo of the completed MRE and store at room temperature for 6 days or more. For each of the 30 days, or for as many as you are able to, post a picture of: Progress- Meals- Activities- Gear and participate in the thread and encourage each other. Using EDC items randomly selected with a poker hand, post a photo of your EDC or a component of the EDC that got used during the course of the day for 4 weeks (or 30 consecutive days) Start a new thread and post a photo of the minimal sak (2 layers or fewer) for thirty (30) consecutive days. Participate in a Challenge thread and post a photo of a Spyderco knife for thirty (30) consecutive days. Only for the 14th year Anniversary Challenge. Post a photo of any gear for thirty (30) consecutive days during the MTo anniversary month.

We're not seeing it but I'm pretty sure they're cleaning their tools.  They know about cleanliness and pathogens.  They probably boil the tool after cleaning game.  What they're using to oil the tool after boiling it is the question.

I thought they'd wipe the blade down, but whole-boiling the tool would be a good approach to it, only concerns would be the joints drying out and rust setting in, but that's very tool-specific and the highly polished Swiss Tools might take that  :think:

In the early stages of the war in Afghanistan, US Special Forces medics were using Leatherman Tools to do amputations because their medical equipment hadn’t been air dropped in yet.
