My thoughts so far.

Despite having "Survival" in its title, this is not exactly a survival show. Instead of following a scenario, these three guys are on a road trip through different States, and each one challenges the others in a variety of tasks, in good fun. The tasks may be constructing tools, making shelter, making fire, target shooting, cooking.

The main attraction of this is the fun. It is a very easy watch. There is no manufactured drama, but instead, great chemistry among the three hosts. They are good friends, helping, teasing, and learning from each other.

What a shame it was not renewed for more seasons. I would gladly watch ten seasons of this. I highly recommend it, if you get a chance to watch it.

One of my favorite shows :salute: I would also like to see new episodes of it but I heard Dave say that Tv shows take to much time to make and he isnt fond of being away from home for the amount of time it takes anymore :-\

Great pics and great reminder of the show though :like: Thanks :tu:

nice snaps!  :like:
I believe that last folder used with the tomahawk is a Buck Vantage, and the "small blade" used by Dave (before the Tomahawk Pics) is the Ontario Blackbird SK5  :salute:

Dick made a knife out of his car door.

He bent it into a scoop and moved coals.

Dave had a Victorinox RangerWood
He cut birch bark, which they then boiled to get its juice, which repels mosquitoes.

He skinned a raccoon.

Dick challenged them to cook using their cars, so Dave made a hibachi.

The show was fun to watch.  While I enjoy a good survival show this was a nice departure from that.  Guys on a road trip enjoying each others company and making things.  Sharing some laughs and busting chops.

Episode 4 - Jersey Devils

Not a lot going on in this one. They went dumpster diving for equipment.

Johnny found a strip of Ramset caps.

And he also found a lighter. Just spark, but better than nothing.

Dave found a razor blade, which he used to make a spindle.

He attached the razor blade to a stick.

He later found a cleaver.

Episode 6 - Castaways

Not a whole lot. The challenge was that "only three items in a deserted island" question.
They had to improvise hunting/fishing gear.

look like I ought to give this show a go
Solving problems you didn't know you had in the most obscure way possible

"And now, it's time to hand this over to our tame race axe driver. Some say, he can live in the forest for six months at a time without food, and he knows of a secret tribe of only women where he is their God. All we know is, he's call the Styx!" - TazzieRob

And that's the show.  :D

A shame it was cancelled, but it was fun while it lasted. Not exactly a survival show, although there are plenty of survival tactics here and there.
Each host has his way of dealing with things, and it was fun to see one of them unprepared and challenging another, and waging resources and gear.
Also, the Leatherman Blast made a few appearances, along with other known tools.

I certainly recommend it. It is entertaining, it is educational, it is never boring or frustrating, and it features multi-tools.  :multi:
