Saw a hole into the hull, naturally. You couldn't use cannon otherwise.

A Huntsman will fit into a pocket caddy:

 :pok:

 :dd:

... yeah, and I just saw there are lots of colour options available too  :tu:
But what's that Navy Camouflage about?
Does the Navy need a saw?
Anyways, I like it  :D

Though, this has to wait a bit  :-\

Back in the 1950s and 1960s, the catalogs used to advertise the saw as being able to cut rope like a serrated blade. I've tried with with saws on SAKs ranging from the late 1950s until today, and none work as well as a serrated blade. Maybe the classic hemp rope, but not modern synthetics.   But anyway, I like the camo as well. Almost bought a regular Camo model for the challenge before deciding on Silvertech.

Day 03 :

I planned to get out for a good hike today. My goal was a section of the CDT (continental divide trail) that spans from Mexico in the South to Canada in the North.

I knew there was a chance of some cold and rainy weather, but Old Man Winter crawled down from his aerie and gave me a smack in the face.

I got hit with a serve storm, rain turned to snow, and a cold, slashing wind cut me to the bone.  I'll confess I was a bit underdressed and might have weathered the storm a bit better if I'd had a few more bits of suitable clothing. So, underdressed and a bit cold, but not totally unprepared, I had my Huntsman with me:

I was out for a shorter walk than anticipated, which makes me a bit cranky, but it was a fun day out and a nice reminder that Old Man Winter is coming for a visit, and soon.

WOW!   Always thought of the Appalachian Trail on our side...
My Huntsman would not help me much, I have no hiking experience and would probably die attempting a through hike, wood saw in hand!!  Lol

I'm glad you are safe my friend!  In a way, your situation is exactly what packing a SAK is all about!  The CDT is On my list of trails to hike.

The CDT is on next years list to mountain bike/hike that trail with my son. Looking forward to it myself.

Most of the day, I carried it in a belt sheath, since I was wearing jeans.   This sheath is very nicely crafted, handmade out of some pretty thick saddle leather. Don't know who made it--it came in a used lot, housing a Wenger that was both too short, and too wide, meaning it was a pain to extract. Luckily, I got it out. This sheath fits most 4-5 layer models well. There was also another one that came with it, of even thicker leather that fits he old 100mm Soldier like a glove.

I used the blade to open some boxes in the garage apartment/storage shed above the farm shop while looking for a specific item.

Mostly used the scissors though. For opening the foil off the probiotic I take daily, and for clipping this coupon.

Same with me, I'm also left-handed and find myself using the scissors most of the time for light stuff.

Been out for a walk. Mushrooms finally pop up everywhere after some rain. Not much to do today besides using eyeglass screwdriver for...well...eyeglasses.
