You read my mind Nix.
Huntsman will open a bottle of vino today and open some plastic packs in the kitchen.

I've lost track of the times this corkscrew has opened a bottle of wine or undone a knot!

Some cracking pics here peeps. Really enjoying the outdoor / "refreshments" theme.

So.... Day 4 I've been out for a bike ride and I've only just picked up my Jelly Red Huntsman but I doubt we'll get up to much today. So here we are with Navy Camouflage kickstand posing

Thanks guys, I just love Jelly Red. It took me a helluva lot to decide to carry this rather than leave it as a Shelf Queen.

And this Navy Camouflage thing? Beats me why but I love it.

Can you imagine trying to find a sailor who fell overboard wearing that uniform? At zero-dark-thirty on a stormy night?

But at least they look cool.

Lol, I kinda thought Navy Camo should be waves or something...
Went out with the USCG at 0 dark 30 in storms, fortunately the civies had light or were lit up by chopper!
...and... back to that April thread as we all carried Buck 110s...

Day 04 :

Windy and stormy day here, so I was inside for much of the day.

Mrs Nix reminded me that it would be her birthday in a few months...or so...and, as such, she would like a pie.

I rummaged through the fridge and freezer and found the requisite components:

Blueberries and a bag of frozen rhubarb from 2002:

We had a lump of pie dough in the freezer from.....recently, yeah, recently......  This got defrosted, thawed, and rolled out to make the pie's "coffin". Huntsman did the honors and created a few steam vents:

The blueberry-rhubarb pie is now cooling. Mrs Nix said she may share her birthday pie.... I sure hope so!

Got up at what I thought was 5:30 to get a head start on my college work. It ended up 4:30 with the time change and awl (my old alarm clock, while not "atomic" would automatically account for the time change, but this one does not), but I still did it any way. I didn't realize I got up that early until looking at the weather station in the kitchen. Got more done today than I did all week. I normally try to take Sunday as a day of rest, but didn't today.

Uses:

Scissors, opening the foil pack a probiotic came in. Also, pruning houseplant.
Awl: Piercing foil seal on new bottle of fish oil pills.
Large blade: cutting apple. I was surprised at how the apple juice removed the tape residue from Day 1.
Pen blade: cutting film off the cap of a can of nasal allergy spray.
Large Screwdriver/Bottle Opener. Removing staples from handwritten work before typing it.
