Tony, I just went thru this with my phone too.  Tap on the screen and a pencil-looking thing will appear on the bottom.
Tap on it, then tap on export.  You will get a small screen with numbers on it.  Delete the left hand set of numbers and enter in 1024.  You'll be good to go!

Day 01 :

(Image removed from quote.)

Got out for a day hike today, before the weather turned nasty. No uses for the trusty Huntsman, but It sure was nice having this capable SAK in my pocket.   :tu:

Oh boy, that would be a great place to have a hike! Glad to see you on this Challenge!  :hatsoff:

Thanks, Ray. Wouldn't miss it!

(Although, I'm afraid many of my entries may start to look alike: I've got more trips planned.)
Well, I for one never tire of the outdoors...so keep them coming.

Day 2.

Peeling chestnuts Ive gathered in the wood earlier this week. They are very small this year due to the long drought in europe this summer.
Can opener came in handy.

A tool for sure. But a very nice basic SAK.

Basic?

I don't know if I'd call the Huntsman 'basic'.

Thinking back to the original SAK designs, the Huntsman ups the game considerably with scissors, a saw, corkscrew, pen blade, and the mighty hook.   :tu: :tu:

True, it's not a 10-layer do-all (that won't fit in my pocket comfortably), but I wouldn't call it 'basic'. Me, I'm calling it 'ideal'.  :climber:

Yes, that is how I meant it...compared to the bigger ones ie 7 layer and bigger.

I think Barry and a few others hooligans are cooking up a Swiss Champ challenge for the new year (2019).  I don't have a Swiss Champ, but I'm going to get one for the challenge. I'm actually dreading that challenge because the Champ just seems so cumbersome to me.

But, who knows? Maybe I'll learn something new and develop a new 'ideal'.......nah.....no way......

I do always look for scissors and a saw.
The saw gets used fairly often when I'm out hiking etc.
I think a Huntsman would be ideal for me too, however, I feel that 4 layers are a tad too much in my watch/coin pocket when in the office.
While out in nature I would have a backpack, bag, pouch or a nice pocket caddy.... so I'm grabbing my Ranger then.
Sure, I could get a Huntsman for that too...

Sounds like fun... where have I seen my Swiss Champ last time? I need to check if it fits into my pocket caddy  :D

Especially in cargo pants...which is basically all that I will wear now. The pockets are just ideal. And you can get them in shorts or long pants.  :tu:

Day 02 :

This awl is nice and sharp, almost a third blade. When it seems reasonable, I like using the awl in lieu of a knife blade, just to save the knives' edges for more delicate work. Opened up a package for Mrs Nix.
