 Day 30:

Hats off to Barry for hosting a fun challenge.   :hatsoff:  And hats off to everyone else for making this challenge so much fun.  :hatsoff:  Thanks, guys!  :tu:

No uses for me today, but the Huntsman was here in my pocket, ready for whatever the day might throw my way. I'll echo the comments of others and say that the Huntsman has, over the past month, proven to be an excellent companion. Not once have I thought I need a different SAK or different tool. When out Elk hunting, I did carry a dedicated, fixed-blade, hunting knife. And I've used a few other knives when tackling bigger projects in the kitchen. For EDC, however, I don't think I've carried a better SAK. The Huntsman's tool set has proven to be superbly useful, with no excess or fluff. During the challenge I believe I've used every tool.....with the exception of the hook. That's a bit odd since the hook is widely known to be fantastically useful.

I think that if I could own only one SAK, it would be a Huntsman. Easy to carry and hugely capable, there's no other SAK I'd rather have when venturing off to the coffee shop or African savannas.

Thought so... but day 30 used the scizzors at least.
On another Huntsman page when I asked what a challenge was, I had no idea!
See you and I'll probably be Climbing around.

For me, the Huntsman is just at the right width to be comfortable for extended use, and has all the right tools.  Most used were the blades, scissors, and surprisingly hook. Probably will continue to carry it after the challenge.

Today, I used the scissors to open the probiotic (I had to actually cut it out of the 10-piece foil pack, as for some odd reason, they didn't perforate them right), used the blade to open the mail, and the hook to pull open a perforated "easy open" clam pack that wasn't as such. Telehandler is a 1/16 scale, German made Bruder CAT (actually, it uses the toolings for a JLG model they also sell) and the fork attachment from the separately sold accessory set.

Day 30, the final day.

Last pic of Mr Huntsman together with his buddy, tomorrows carry. Will write some more lines as a resumé tomorrow.

My very first challenge was great. Thanks folks.
Is that a Wenger Grillon?? Nice looking!  :like:

Nothing official. Wanted to do a BSA/Pioneer Challenge for myself, but you dont get badges for this. So I am shifting a bit towards SAKs only and doing a Throwback-Minimalist Challenge   :climber:

This was a fun challenge to watch. And thank you all for the nice pics and stories and conclusions.

I'm sure the Huntsman would cover most of my SAK needs, but I do have an Outrider already

I'm a big Outrider fan. In the past i've said that the Outrider could be my 'one' SAK. But think of the Huntsman as a small Outrider, and a bit easier to carry.....and suddenly it seems to have a real role for EDC or times when you don't want as much weight or bulk.

Ahhhhh....it's imposible to explain.....you just have to try one for yourself....... :pok:
