I often come across Kickstarter tools, either while looking at Kickstarter itself or in FB ads, Instagram ads etc, and I always take the time to look at them.  After all, you never know what the next great thing will be, right?

Today's installment is the Rocky Belt:

Its basically a high tech fanny pack (bum bag to some of you) that seems like a great solution to a problem no one on the planet was having.  Luckily the inventor has an attractive girlfriend willing to walk around with this monstrosity on so that people will actually pay attention.   :facepalm:

Plus I have to imagine that with a battery large enough to charge a laptop, it has to be quite heavy.

I wonder when we will see Dave Canterbury wearing one of these as an essential piece of survival gear on TV?

I think I'll pass on this one, but I figured I'd at least pass it on to everyone here in case anyone feels differently!

You can get all those functions separate in a backpack and just use a flashlight or headlamp like normal people so I agree with you Boss, it does seem like a solution to a problem no one has.

Kickstarter? Why bother, something like this would sell better on late night prepaid programming.

I don't think there's a bottle opener on it.

Along a similar vein, I think I wouldn't mind seeing a backpack with an LED light built into one or both shoulder straps, perhaps connected to a solar panel on top to charge the battery.  I would consider that long before I tried something like this one.

This is actually the second belt I had seen advertised today- the other one was a normal belt with a small folding blade in a removable part of the belt buckle.  And, because it had a small blade AND held your pants up, it was called a multitool.   :facepalm:

That belt reminded me of powered air purifying respirators. Those also got a huge batteries, but of course just one vital but slightly boring function. They are actually quite comfy to wear despite the weight though.

Those kind of things can get one in expensive or serious legal trouble many places as they would be regarded as a concealed knife. Then again, these days anything with a blade seems enough to land someone somewhere in trouble.

Before buying this, make sure you have a nice, fat a$$ to keep it from sliding down to your knee. They need to go back to the drawing table and add belt loops to this, so flat a$$ like me can wear a belt to hold up this belt  :tu: Oh, and I want a chest version too. I can rock a Pacific Rim robot costume this Halloween  >:D

SIGH.  If the maker was serious this product would actually reflect it.  I hope they sell billions of dollars worth.  I'll restate I'd love one as a kid playing batman but seeing how I am not a youngish woman I'll pass.
