I don´t know why people find funny to be drunk

Perhaps because I think alcohol is a dangerous vice that can lead to be alcoholic. A big problem in those countries

Just thinking

I think, personally, it is not getting drunk that is the main focus. It is the sense of relaxation from the daily grind. This can, according to personal preference, go together with imbibing moderate amounts of alcoholic beverages, but one gets the impression getting uproariously drunk is not the main aim, and the drinks could probably as easily be replaced with green tea or hot chocolate. I don't dispute the dangers of alcohol... I have some second-hand experience of that, alas.
Cheers!

Thanks for the link, Alex.  Illustrates nicely how Finland is successfully addressing mental health issues.

I am proud and glad of my own country

Good for you.  I bet the Finns are proud of their country too. :tu:

"Pantsdrunk" has to be my new favourite word

Quote
Denmark, meanwhile, is renowned for its hygge – embracing ambience and luxuriating in leisureliness. Hygge is a mug of hot chocolate sipped near an open fire, soft woollen blankets and a row of leather-bound spines on the bookshelf. It’s those images we see in interior design magazines and on Instagram. And this is its failing: not all of us have the means to spend our days wrapped in cashmere, reclining on an Arne Jacobsen sofa on stormy autumn evenings. Hygge is like a Disney movie that leaves no place for the mess of real life.

Stereotyping much?
..."hygge" just means "getting cosy" ...usually just involves maxin'-relaxin'-chillaxin' on a couch in front of a fire or TV....why is that a thing in Denmark one may wonder?  ...well because the weather is always either rainy, cold or windy...or all at the same time, so it's no wonder people stay in doors.

And now ladies (if there even are any on here?) and gentleman: it's time for Stereotyping!!!!

it was a typical day in October, the Irish and British went to a pub discussing Brexit, Americans went to a bar or fast food restaurant in a pickup truck or a big V8 powered car, Germans went to October fest (can I join, bitte? :drink:), French went to a cafe enjoying a glass of wine, Spanish and Italians went to a family dinner enjoying food that would make the rest of us jealous, Dutch put on their wooden shoes and enjoyed being taller than the rest of us, Danish stayed at home doing "hygge" and thinking a 200m tall hill is considered a mountain (For some reason), Swedish had some "snus" and went to Ikea in their red Volvo or SAAB with fog lights mounted on the front, Norwegians continues living well on their oil money, not having to care about the EU and their stupid rules, meanwhile the Finnish were getting "Pantsdrunk"...Swiss enjoyed their high quality clock work along with not having to care about being part of the EU.

"Pantsdrunk" has nothing to do with stereotyping, though... it's just a literal translation of a word we invented for something that happens all over the world (and especially in Finland)  :P

PS: Finland says: "We love you guys too!"

PS2: I am even PROUDER of my country and NOONE can tell me otherwise!  :twak:

Here in the US, you can get drunk in pants or shorts, or none at all! You could even wear a shirt with your legs through the armholes and get drunk! :drink:
