I know this completely flies in the face of this forum, but does anyone collect single blade SAKs?

I picked up a couple Daypackers for really cheap. Can't say I seek them out, exactly.
The Hunter Pro looks pretty nice though.

I have thought on the single Alox knives but I like to use what I buy. I think they would sit in a drawer doing nothing.

I am not searching specifically for them, but i bought an Alox sentry with bail (one of the first Vic i bought, as i understood it's not really a Sentry but a 2071r+). Then i have a gardener knife. I guess that's all (for now  >:D)

I have a nice Vic Safari Solo, plus I'm looking for a Wenger one blade Ranger.
Sometimes it's nice to have just a nice traditional folder that happens to be made in Switzerland.

Just one blade, and no other tools - No
Just one blade, with other tools - Yes
(well, not collect, but own and carry more than one)

I don't even carry a Swiss knife without scissors, let alone an absence of other tools. I made that mistake with my first Swiss knife, a Tourist, and aside from mod fodder, haven't bought a Swiss knife without scissors since.

Without scissors and the other functions, it would just be a pocket knife that wouldn't get so much as a second glance from me. There are two types of pocket knives that I'll carry. Firstly, modern, clipped one hand opening sub 3" slippies. This isn't just due to regional legalities, but mainly due to the fact that is the type of knife I want. I have no wish for locks or large folders, as they are of detriment to me, not benefit.

Secondly, traditional wood, bone or horn scaled pocket knives with protective bolsters, not pressed on hollow plastic scales. In fact, I'm just gearing up for converting a lot of my Swiss knives to this type of construction.

It it the multiple functionality of the Swiss knives that appeal to me. Take that away, and there's simply no interest for me at all. I have many other pocket knives which appeal far more in terms of "blade only" knives, and I do frequently carry them so long if I'm carrying a multitool that has good enough scissors.

As to knives which only have one blade but other tools, I'd prefer it if more knives did, and it's one of the reasons I like the Wenger Traveller so much. I also have a modded DofE, Compact, Manager, Classics, PTC, and don't find any of them lacking for not having a second blade. If there is to be a second blade, I prefer it to be something other than the same again but smaller. The Original Outdoorsman is a good example of this, with the serrated and pruner blades, or even the Weekender with its serrated and plain edge. They to me have justifiable cause for a second blade, unlike the standard cop out of big and little spear blades. At least make one a coping blade, or Wharncliffe, or something that gives you a reason to choose one or the other, other than size.

The closest I have and use is a Safari Solo Plus, which is my favorite "wine and cheese plate" tool.  SAK steel is good when you need the other tools, but when I'm carrying a single-blade knife I'm looking for something a bit better like 1095 carbon in a slip joint or some other modern steel in a "tactical" knife.

I realize the question was raised from more of a collector standpoint, but I really don't collect things that I wouldn't carry.

I've seen pictures here of some lovely collections of alox Solos, at least.

Besides the Gardeners and the Pioneer Solo I have 2 Safari Solo, and 2 Sentinels. Maybe 75 multitool SAKs as well.

Also about 75 other single blade knives.

Each has its own merits. Out in the woods you may find on me a Spyderco Endura and/or an Opinel #12.

... a Safari Solo Plus, which is my favorite "wine and cheese plate" tool.

The Pioneer Solo is my goto apple knife.

I like the idea of having different knives and SAKs for specific purposes / environments / occasions. That´s why I have many.

To me, without any other tool(s), it isn't really a SAK, even if it's made by Vic or Wenger.
The closest I have is an alox Bantam.  That combo tool makes it so much more than just a knife.

Ron Who, I’m not a collector, I use what I collect. You have a great set of knives there.

My initial thought was no, but I realized I have a few 93mm Solos (OC, silver, South African orange), a 108mm Solo, a couple of 100mm single blades, an Electrician Solo, a Baker’s Knife, a Sentry...

So maybe I do.

The black ones have brass liners instead of aluminium. It makes them heavier and more expensive.

I found mine in small internet gardening shops, probably old stock.
