G-Shock Rangeman band issue
on: October 10, 2018, 03:39:59 PM
I I love my G-Shock Rangeman, see my post here for details

but after 2 years, the band broke, and I had to replace it (about $42).
now, 2 years later again, and the band failed, both were official Casio bands, and have failed in the same manner.

the tip end of the band side that holds the clasp/buckle seems to have split in a near perfect linear fashion.
almost as if it were made of two layers molded together
I do wear my watches loose as the manual states and the watch can travel about an inch on my arm. I do not think I am stressing the watch in that fashion.

when the first one failed I contacted Casio since it was still within my warranty (extended when I registered the watch), and they said they do not cover the bands.

any recommendations on how I can re-enforce this area when I get my new band?
any recommendations about alternate replacement bands?

thanks everyone
If I can help, let me know

Wish I had a suggestion for you.  Sorry to hear about your bad luck with your bands.  I've got a Mudman I've been beating up for about 8 years and haven't had any issues.  It's a shame Casio wont help you out.

Send it over this way and I'll test it for a few years...

I recently changed watches (to a ga 700) and find the strap fit pretty annoying.
Slightly too tight or slightly too loose.
It was a gift so I can't really complain.

The mudman on my wants list fits perfectly though.   :dd:

I got rid of the original band on my G shock, it just didn't fit me right. I fitted some jays and kays strap adapters and also use their one piece 3 ring nato straps. I always bought off their etsy shop as it worked out cheaper for delivery to this side of the pond than using their evil bay shop.  I haven't found anyone else that does the adapters.

Any chance you could share a pic of how yours turned out with the NATO on it?

I did the same change over to Jays and kays and haven't regretted it twice! I did change my mind after about an hour but changed back again the day after and have going with Nato strap for about 3 years.

Can take a pic when I get home

I saw that your request is a couple of weeks old but I took some pictures anyway. I don't know if there is something specific you want to see so I took a few.. It does rides a bit higher and there is a bit more aggressive angle down towards the sides of the wrist but I really like it and the fact that you can change colors and just toss it in the washer when dirty or as me that paddle a lot in salsmurfer.. I also cut mine a bit shorter so I can fit the end in one of the adaptor when it's on my wrist

thank you for the pictures.  it really helps to know how the NATO strap works, and I may have to look into this.
