New High for a Black Beauty?

Anybody else watch that Black Beauty go for $1175 USD yesterday?  Holy. Moly. 

I hope at least it was bought by an MTO member so we get to see it from time to time.  I guess it's a good thing I'm happy with my 2014 black-with-red-shield Pioneer, the poor man's Black Beauty.

I saw a screenshot of a bidding listing for a Black Beauty yesterday on Facebook. The bid was $375 and climbing.  was that the same one?

That seller has dozens of high dollar items for sale.

I have a few on my watch list but missed that one. I wouldn't survive my wife's wrath if I paid that kind of money for a SAK. LOL

IIRC the seller said its a Railroad knife, and they get the year stamped also, which I thought was only on military knives.

Granted, but in essence it's still the same as all the other SI's and Soldiers except it's black. Also, if that's what pipple want to spend their cash on, it's their cash. Just saying it's a load of cash for what it is. Or isn't.

I was personally thinking it would hit $350 -$400...but thats me. New to SAK and not knowing all the models, I would have bid that.

My son loves stag...had it been in buffalo horn, I would be all over it. The bidding ended on a Huntsman horn and I was out at $200. I think it ended at $220. That seller also had a mother of pearl that went to $265 I think

I know this seller and while he's reliable in the sense that he delivers as promised, I would be very cautious when bidding on his eBay auctions. Based on Whatsapp conversations I had with him I have substantial reason to assume he uses one or more additional accounts to help bidding on his own auctions to raise the price. Because he always uses private bidding it is as good as impossible to be sure about it, although sometimes you see that key bids on different ads are being made around the same time (in a 15 minute timeframe).
