Possible scam SAK seller/website?
on:
October 13, 2018, 05:57:06 PM
Hi All,
I've been an longtime lurker here but never made an account until I had to make a post.
There is a new website out with prices that seem too good to be true: ~50% of normal prices.
Does anyone know if swissarmyknivesstore . com is legit?
Scam advisor is saying probable scam but I figured I would ask here because if anyone knows for sure it has to be one of you guys.

Thank you,
-Wes

Hey,
I don’t know the shop.
When I’m not sure I asked always the Victorinox service if it’s a official seller...

I’ve seen that website in the past, it does look too good to be true. Authorized dealers normally get knives for 50% of MSRP so a website selling them at that price is definitely fishy.

Looking at their site, it seems they take paypal. Paypal usually will not deal with shady website because they back their deals with money back guarantee. I have seen them drop several websites as well as Ebay dealers that get too much negative feedback.
That said I still would be a little leary and not hesitate one second to complain to paypal if something was not right.

Just a small personal observation. ...........I would not be at all surprised that when God created the Earth & the heavens, that the SwissChamp was the tool he used. ..............

Thanks all.
I think I'll make a note to see if the website is still around in a month or two for reviews to pop up and go from there.

That site popped up a few days ago in another thread, asking the same question. It's a URL that is too close to a genuine Vic dealer to be a coincidence and it was advised by multiple members there to stay clear too.

Victorinox sets a minimum advertised price for their products with authorised retailers. If the prices listed are below those, then even if they are authorised - they won't be for long. I'd give them a wide berth for now

Well, I've been a lurker here for years so I figured if I finally made an account to post I should also pay my dues at the same time.
