Thanks again for all the positive feedback! Today I turned down the only offer for permanent employment that I've had since my redundancy.......will not be selling my soul to the money lenders Unfortunately all these knives together will not replace the income I'm loosing.......if they sell.So far it looks like selling overseas will be a challenge, I could increase my prices by 30% to cover what PayPal takes and still be comparatively cheap, but it seems the shipping is an even bigger problem.Saw a Dutch guy now living and making knives in SA complain that he was quoted R2300 to ship a knife he charges R1900 for to Europe.......

Try the EU and USA markets. See what's out there and the prices. You might find some small company interested in working with you.Saw a Dutch guy now living and making knives in SA complain that he was quoted R2300 to ship a knife he charges R1900 for to Europe.......

Ouch, that hurts are there no other options for shipping available?I don't know how the situation is, but being able to sell to Europe is a big market of people that can afford these prices. Ideal would be to have an intermediary within the EU.I have to say, this is fantastic work. Do you make sheaths?

Good luck, my friend! Things will get better!
There has to be work around. I sure hope you figure it out. The knife market is big enough for all new makers with quality knives. How does Arno Bernard get his knives out of SA?
Have you looked on the possibility of making/having someone make nice leather sheaths for your knives? Maybe an investment of $5 in a sheath can result in an increase of $10 in the final price.
