I'm looking forward to reading about it, Valkie!

I got this one out a tool box today. It is really really really bad. But, the wood saw actually has slightly sharpened teeth. 3/8" wobble in the pivots.

My next day off (Sunday), I'll be trying it out against a SAK. :o
Pictured with a silvertech scaled Explorer for size reference.

And then watch it explode. I had one of these as a kid--and it did that. Whittling damaged a pin, I guess. Granddad bought a bunch just like that for gifts to family members years before, and this was a spare I got when I started collecting knives. Really, my great-grandfather on my grandmother's side had common sense, and for users chose many of the same brands I do--Victorinox, Buck, Imperial, Schrade, and Queen. What cheap brands he had (i.e Sharp) were of good quality.

Well. I didn't get to try out the CAK today. My radiator decided, after 16 years(Ive had it for 10 of those), the hose inlet would break off. I ordered a new radiator, but have to spend all day tomorrow putting it in.

Use the CAK for those repairs... ?
That'll be a good test

Best review I've ever watched. Completely accurate. I won't be wasting my money on the Victorinox anymore when I can have the CAK quality materials and sharpness. :woohoo:

Thanks for posting that, RP!

OOOOOOooooo  KKKKKKkkkkkkk

I get the distinct impression that the author of that review was being somewhat sarcastic.

I cannot understand why, it was obviously a well engineered and beautifully crafted tool.

And having a go at the less than sharp edges, it was obviously manufactured that way for safety's sake.

Sharp implements in the hands of some people is just asking for trouble.

The emergency detachment of the scales is a new innovation, obviously.

I can see several reasons for this, to slim down the tool, to reduce static electricity, to allow the scale to be used as a fire starter etc etc.

And the flexible corkscrew, obviously important to assist in the reduction of alcohol intake.

Yes, Obviously a well made tool for its purpose, it should not have been maligned as it was. :pok: :pok: :pok: :pok:

:iagree:

SAKs are too sharp and too strong for normal people. I can't tell you how many times I wished that what I was cutting would require several minutes of hacking and sawing to get the job done. And my favorite party trick is to make a corkscrew disappear into a cork and never be seen again.

Personally, if a saw isn’t blunt enough to use as a fish scaler, it’s a smurfy saw >:(

My favorite part is the fact that call those things "saws", and secretly, they are fish scalers. Something akin to a Cracker-Jack prize. SAKs don't have any fun surprises. Who wants a wood saw that saws? :D
