smallish torch with multiple colour light output
on: November 03, 2018, 01:09:19 AM
Thinking of buying my son a torch for his birthday (he already has a SAK).

I'm thinking he might enjoy a torch with different coloured light output and it would also be good to teach him about their benefits in different situations.

On amazon.co.uk there are several different ones, but it is difficult to know about quality, wondering whether anyone here had any experience with such torches, and could make any recommendations?

I'm not sure of Amazon UK, but you get the idea. Military flashlight These have storage in the base plate area that allow for different colored lens to be saved for times when they are needed. Military surplus, amazon, e-bay may get you this type of flashlight with the colored lenses.

I have a Manker E03h, that comes with white, green and red clip on diffusers. But swapping diffusers is a tough job on the fingers!  :-\
Hooked, like everyone else. ;)

All hail the hook!

That's a good one and small.
A couple of others, Gerber Recon and Skilhunt H03c :tu:

Sorry for the hijack but are there no tri-colour (eg RGB) LED flashlights out there yet?
Cheers!

By RGB LEDs you mean ones like these?
https://solarbotics.com/product/led-rgb-8cd5kca/
Like most other bulb shaped LEDs, they aren’t very bright....

The Skilhunt H03c has RGB+W on one module and pretty darn bright.

Be careful with modern flashlights. They are bright enough to damage eyes. :tu:

That Skilhunt torch looks amazing!

The only one from a 'reliable' manufacturer I've found is this one: the LED Lenser T2QC:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Ledlenser-Colour-Torch-Black-Test/dp/B019GRY98G/ref=sr_1_129?rps=1&ie=UTF8&qid=1541204547&sr=8-129&keywords=torch&refinements=p_76%3A419158031%2Cp_72%3A419153031

Anyone have any experience with it?

It had better be, at that price (51 € @Amazon.de). No customer reviews yet...

Don’t trust amazon reviews too much! Find out what the real flashlight addicts think of it.
And in this case, I don’t see any talk on budgetlightforum yet.

H03c is a new model with the magnetic charger, you might be able to get the previous version H02c via eBay at a reasonable price.

Been using Skilhunt for sometime now and very happy with the build quality and UI  :tu:

If you could find a Skilhunt at a reasonable price go for that.

The Skilhunt is RGB+W are you interested in UV?

Looking on Amazon this one is budget friendly and gives you RG+UV. No idea of quality etc but at the price worth giving it ago.

Amazon
