Dark Gray vs Black
on: November 09, 2018, 11:07:07 PM
Getting the SAK organized I found this Dark Gray V.10127US2. Until you have a light on both, the dark gray will have a bluish tint to it. In regular light it would be really easy to think they were both black. Anybody else have the Dark Gray? Here are my five different Alox colors.

I've got one. You're right, it's color is very lighting dependent.
If the trees blew down the wind and no one was around, would the alphabet song really go backwards?

Yes, and I noticed one other thing also.
The shield on the black is silver when you reflect light on it. The shield on the dark gray will be gray.

I've never noticed that. I'll have to get it out to check.

The only reason I have that color is that it was the cheapest pioneer I found about a year ago. It's basically on standby as a spare in case I ever lose ol'Blackie

I had 2 of them, but traded one for a spare black one to a member here looking for the dark grey color

Just got one off the bay as it was about a couple bucks cheaper than the normal black/red/silver versions out there and I figured why not.

I too thought it was black at first until I pulled out my flashlight, figured the seller sent me a mis-marked box at first glance.

Not sure if I'll use it or just keep it in the box as it is different but only barely so.

Still trying to find the limited steel blue color for cheap but there is no need to rush in the collecting hobby :D
Work EDC: LM Raptor/Bladeless Pioneer X Mod

Weekend EDC: LM Free P2 or Vic Pioneer X/Vic Rambler/Olight I1R EOS Pro Ti/ Atwood R37Pry

These days I focus on collecting oddball Pharmacy/Medical Advert Victorinox Classics.

I agree...as of right now I am still trying to figure out a direction to follow on what I truly want...at first I was thinking BSA...then Spartans...then...well you see where this is going. And then what color...a slippery slope we walk.

You could collect pioneers. Lots of colors, and there's a BSA version  :tu:
